I've had egg collection today which has resulted in the cycle being abandoned.
I've had a really hard time with this and hated every moment so had to really syc myself up for it.
So in theory in 3 months time I can try again which would mean getting pregnant in October and therefore a July baby.
I have a June and August baby already and neither were ready for school but had to go, both have struggled and I vowed I wouldn't do that to a child again, of course this was all before the need for IVF. But it is important to me right now.
Am I hormonal and bonkers, should I just get on with it or would you hand on and hope for a Feb cycle = a October baby ?
(please bear in mind I have had egg collection today so am v fragile :D)

I don't know if it helps but I was a July baby (20th) and was really happy to go to school (big brother was already there) did pretty well academically and am,on the whole, well adjusted and happy (no so great at the moment but that's another story!)

I think what I'm trying to say is that it's more than a d o b that makes a person.you are obv very caring and want to do all you can for your dcs but you are putting too much pressure on yourself by worrying about this..you can't control what the future holds in this way. I'm sure that having such a caring loving mum is worth much more to your dcs and the future lo.

And on a happy hippy note,if you have a cancerian baby they will be v loving and caring too!(I should know of course)

xx

Sorry to hear that your current cycle didn't work out.

I think babies come along when they want to, not to fill in gaps in our calendars.

As one who tried a long long time (no ivf) I would have had a baby with any birthday. If you skip a cycle and the feb one doesn't work, you might find yourself regretting not trying in October.

My birthday is end of july and I did very well at primary school - from a child's perspective it never occured to me that there was an age gap between me and any of the other children. To me they were just the other kids in the class.

Your third child will have two older siblings - if my 2nd child is anything to go off he/she will be copying the older ones and ready for things sooner.

Of course all children are different, and of course your next child might be ready to go to school aged 4, but if not, please bear in mind that your child wouldn't HAVE to start then.

Compulsory school age does not start until the term AFTER a child turns five - so with a July baby you could delay by a full year if you felt strongly about it.

I would say go for it in October, but I would also say that today might not be a great day for you to be maing a decision like this hon .
