Cheap OPK's or not ovulating?

Hi - can anyone tell me if the ebay OPKs they used worked? I have obvious EWCM at the moment, but no positive on the OPK. I also have a lot of spotting with it too, which is worrying me. We have been trying for two years for #3 and no luck at all. Been for tests and everything should be ok, but I am not convinced.... should I be relying on these OPk's?

No. Apparently EWCM is the most reliable sign pre-ovulation so go with that and don't worry too much about the OPKs IMO.It is possible to have more than one case of EWCM in a month so you should go for it whenever it appears, I think. Good luck.

If you hav ebeen ttc for two years without success then there is likely to be a problem with either one or both of you equally. You are well beyond the stage of using OPK's and these are not always helpful at the best of times, particularly if periods are irregular.

Spotting between periods should always be checked out further to establish the cause. It is often not serious but it should be checked properly.

What tests have you both had done to date and when were these performed?. Any test result done over 6 months ago should be discounted. At the very least you should be under the care of a gynae cons.

Thank you for your replies.
I have had the blood tests at the doctors (21 day test) which showed I had lowish progesterone, but the doctor wasn't overly concerned (and to be honest, I don't think I was there at day 21 either). However, did refer me to fertility clinic at hospital as I wanted to know what was wrong. This however turned out to be rather embarressing as the consultant basically said that this was a place for IVF and I would have to pay as I already had two children (and I felt very guilty given the place I was in) and I said we didn't want that but I simply wanted to find out what was wrong as it was concerning me, so he refered me to have a scan - which turned out to be all fine, and I was told is that the spotting is probably hormonal.
My husband hasn't had tests as this would have been the first step down the IVF route with the consultant and it felt silly as we are already blessed with two. Hope this makes sense. I had half convinced myself that we are simply not having enough sex (probably true) and that OPKs would at least narrow it down to the right times! However, I still don't know what is going on and maybe have been too soft about it all with the doctors...
