Hi All,

Am starting with IUI next cycle and wondered if you have any hints / tips to share?? Any foods/drinks I should take or steer clear of?

Would really appreciate any help.

Thanks

Grace

Hi Greet

I had my first cycle of IUI last July and am now 30 weeks pregnant . I didn't follow any particular diet though I did follow some tips (originally intended for IVF) that another MNetter helpfully gave me - in the run up to IUI, plenty of hot baths to encourage womb lining and drink lots of water (1.5 l per day). No exercise in order to concentrate blood flow to womb. After IUI, lots of rest but no hot baths. No idea if it helped or not but wasn't too difficult to follow (particularly the no exercise bit )

Good luck.

Not had iui but had ivf, I second the tip about heat until the iui. Hot bath and wheat bags are good but not afterwards though. If you can have some accupunture that really help me, Its great to help you relax and for womb lining and implantation. Good luck

Darn it hobnobs, wish I hadn't read your advice- just had iui and forgot about the hot baths thing.

I conceived ds1 after my first cycle of iui 3 years ago. I didn't do anything special, although I had stopped drinking alcohol and caffeine about 1 month before.

I wasn't told to, I was just trying to do anything I thought was healthy and might help.

Good luck.

I also cut down on how much soya based products I was eating, like tofu (am vegetarian) as I had read something about that helping conception somehow.
