I had a MMC in oct 2008, my next AF was 14th november then 17th december. We were BD 25-27th dec which was my "fertile time" then 2 days ago which was 7-9 days post BD i have had intermittent streaking of pink and brown disharge. Not enough to mark a pad but only upon wiping!!! Sorry TMI!!! According to the "ovulation" websites i should have finished ovulating 2nd jan soo can t test until 10 days from the 2 nd of jan!!!! All the tests soo far negative but are due AF 12th jan soo have a test i can do 5 days before my AF!!!!

Well, I guess the timing sounds about right for implantation bleeding assuming that you ovulated around christmas.

I'm a bit confused though - you then say your fertile time ends on 2 Jan. How can that be if you ovulated around christmas?

Your timings are similar to mine. Last AF was 15th Dec; ovulated on 26th Dec; next AF due 9th Jan. I haven't had any implantation bleeding, but I feel very pg. With 2 of my previous 4 pregnancies I have had implantation bleeding, but I got it at about 13-14 days post ovulation, so it would probably be too early for me.

It does sound like implantation bleeding to me though, which can come when the egg implants at about 7-10 days post ovulation.

Very similar to my dates too. NoNickname - you say you feel pregnant? What kind of symptoms do you have at the moment if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks for your messages. On an "ovulation " calender it showed my ovulation lasting from approx 27/28th dec to the 2/3rd of jan.

how long would it take for the hcg to be sufficient enough to show as a BFP?.

Hi NONICKNAME your timings are virtually the same aren t they? I also feel PG can t explain why no major symptons apart from an occasional metallic taste in my mouth!!! [Don t know if i m imaging it tho!!]

Oh, I see, so it gave you an estimated period during which you would ovulate. (I don't use those things - they can't cope with my ridiculous cycles!)

I would wait 3 days after spotting before testing, or until 12dpo whichever was the later. That way you are likely to get an accurate result.

Lots of luck - I hope you get your BFP.

Thanks MRSHAPPY if i follow your advice and wait 3 days that ll take me to thurs 8 th which is also 5 days before AF and i ve got a test which you can try at that stage.

12 dpo would be ? about 14 th jan which is toooo long to wait!!! But would tie in with post AF date!!! Thanks for your advice i ll let you know if theres any news!!!

If you ovulated on 27 December 12 dpo would be 8 January.

If, on the other hand, you are taking 2 Jan to be your ovulation date, then the bleed you have already had is I think too early for implantation bleeding as implantation happens from about 5 dpo onwards. If you ovulated somewhere in between it is possible that the bleeding is implantation bleeding, although I guess that ideally you would still have been having regular sex after 27 December if you ovulated later in that month.

The FR tests are (by their own statistics) not terribly reliable if you use them 5 days early. If I were you I would wait until two days before your period is due (10 Jan). That can be taken as equivalent to 12 dpo and you can be fairly confident of the result (although a minority of women do not get a positive until after they have missed their period).

HTH, lots of luck.

onlyanauntie - my symptoms are: general achiness in the womb area, with occasional sharp pains in either side (ovary area); my boobs are bigger and more tender than is usual at this TOTM; I had very itchy nipples about a week ago (strong pg symtom for me). I'm pretty certain I have conceived. Whether or not it successfully implants is another matter

louisesh - might still be a good sign - my implantation bleeding has always been enough for me to start using my Mooncup. Then it just mysteriously disappears after about 2 days.

Hi, my last AF was 6th Dec and I have a 31-32 day cycle. Have had slightly blood stained mucous on day 30 and 31 (normal for me, pre AF), then as I was going to bed last night (day 31) I had a bigger fresh blood loss. I thought AF had arrived but woke up to slight old blood only and nothing since. A pregnancy test I did on day 28 was negative. Would this be too late in my cycle to be an implantation bleed?

Not at all too late I don't think bandanna. With my ds I got implantation bleeding on what should have been the last two days of my cycle.

bandana, I have exactly the same details as you!!! I got my BFP on Sunday CD 30 and started to spot 2 hours later. It seems to have stopped now (on and off for no more than 24 hours) and was only very very light but may have been caused by implantation so it may be worth doing another test.

Thanks very much, not given up hope yet then! I'll test again tomorrow if AF doesn't arrive. I always thought an implantation bleed was around 5-10 after conception. Happy to stand corrected.
Congratulations LJ29!

Will also stick around and watch with interest, louisesh. The metallic taste sounds like a good sign. Sorry AF got you bandanna. I have some brown/pinkish spotting today, which would be about the right time (for me anyway) for implantation bleeding) but seeing as that's how my period also usually starts then I won't be getting too excited just yet. Think I'll sit tight and see if anything happens tomorrow, and if not, do a test on Saturday.
