Side effects after Clomid?

Just wondered if anyone who has had Clomid has experienced side effects such as nausea and nipple tenderness AFTER the course of pills has finished?

I have just completed my 2nd course of Clomid (now cd24) and for the past week or so I've had sore nipples (actually gone off today), have felt sick for 3 days and had a couple of days light brown discharge(sorry!).

I am trying really hard not to see these as pg signs, as I don't want to ends up massively disappointed but I didn;t have any of these sypmtoms on the last course (unsuccessful) and I was wondering if they are signs of the Clomid working if nothing else??

Driving myself mental!

Keep us posted.

Runtus, taking clomid did make me feel sickly. I took it for both of my pgs, and both times I felt queasy. Sorry!

I thought there would be people that had nausea as a side effect, can I ask how long after the Clomid course actually finished that you felt sickly?

I finished the 2nd course 18 days ago now

sorry - i had nausea and nipple tenderness after clomid too (different stages of the months; took it for 2 months) and convinced myself i was pg (but i wasn't). but you never know - trouble is with comparing side effects/symptoms is that everyone is so very different in their reaction to hormones. so many of these symptoms can be side effects or they could be pg.. you won't know until your af is due. good luck anyway...

Thanks for the posts, I know I'm trying to over-analyse before cd28 when I can test but can't help myself!

I'll stop now I promise!

Finger crossed for you Runtus! I conceived twice using clomid. DS1 after 3 cycles, DS2 after 2 (mind I did double the dosage).

Don't mean to get your hopes up, but sounds really hopeful!! Will you be testing over the weekend?

Runtus I've used clomid to get pg too. I didn't have any of your symptoms while taking it - justthe pmt style moodiness big time. Good luck - I really hope it works for you - keep us posted

Sorry not to post what happened quicker - got tied up over the Bank Holiday.

Well, did a test which came back negative but then af arrived unannounced on cd25. SOunds depressing but actually is good cos I've not had a natural period for months and for once I didn't have to take Progestrone pills to induce one.

Called the Consultant to tell him I had come on early and that my 21day blood test might be affected as it wasn;t taken 7 days prior to my period starting. They looked at the result and confirmed I did ovulate last month!!!!!!!!!!Massive hooray for clomid working!

Now all I have to concentrate on is our timing this month!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all your help and posts, much appreicated.

I know what you mean Runtus. If you combine the clomid with an opk you should get i spot on!

Fingers crossed for the next cycle. It will work.

Thanks Em, not sure I can use OPK's though as I have PCOS and they tend to give a false positive result apparantly.

Have to stick to the regular and often method instead!

Another quick query, has anyone had experience of an elongated period after course of Clomid? Today is cd8 and it shows no signs of stopping, if anything it is getting heavier.

Doesn't sound that long I know but mine have always been 4-5 days previously and if we are to aim at 'action' between cd 12-18 we are running out of time!

I promise I will stop panicking about this all soon!

clomid buggered around with my cycle loads (late period/long period) but there again it wasn't a good option for me. It has been great for many people. Don't worry too much about your af lasting so long. just keep an eye on your egg-white mucus as an indicator for fertility rather than counting days as yours is likely to be different anyway. sorry if tmi, but when you wipe after a wee, look at the paper to see what your discharge is like. when it looks like egg white -stretchy and see-through that is the time you are most fertile. it will probably last for a couple of days. some people gets lots, some just a little, it depends on your hormone levels. loads of luck xxx

Thanks Moomin, I've just looked back at last month and remembered that was an 11 day Period as well, so maybe that is my new length?

I had forgotten about cm since starting the Clomid but I'll try to keeop an eye on it from now on. I was wondering what I could use as an ov sign seeing as i can't use OPK's........thanks for reminding me!
