Yay a new thread. Well done latour

Hope it entices some of the other quiet TTCers back on board.

Have you had anymore pain from the gall bladder?

This thread tends to move too quickly for me but going to have another go as feeling particularly negative today. Stopped taking Cerazette 12 weeks ago & still no AF but yet another BFN yesterday. Just had blood tests for various things which didn't show anything unusual so now have to wait another 4-6 weeks then GP will refer me to gynae if still no AF. Wouldn't mind not being pregnant yet if I was having periods but driving myself crazy thinking something is wrong. DH keeps telling me I need to stop worrying about it which is easy for him to say.

Hi Claire
Sorry to hear you are feeling bad at the mo.

This thread has previously moved really fast but should have slowed down a bit now as many of the 'graduates' have shifted their pregnancy chat to an ante-natal thread so its also a better place to be if you dont want to hear about that kind of thing. There are still some lovely ladies here posting regularly but not at 100mph!

Feel for you waiting for AF to return. I had this a couple of times with the pill (combined and progesterone only) when I was in my mid 20s and came off the pill. While I wasnt actively TTC at the time I knew I wanted my body "ready" for conception (in the end didnt need it til I was 31!) so I remember feeling awful that there was something wrong with me, that I was infertile etc. Its an awful feeling that takes over your thoughts.

I also have PCOS so that contributed to my issues and caused delay but I did eventually get cycles back that became really good, regular and I conceived first try - so please dont give up hope.

Would be good if the doctor can help you check there isnt any underlying causes. The other thing that makes it worse is worrying- very hard to break that cycle but when I was stressed and looking out for AF, it never happened. But when I focused my life else where things did improve.

Gosh, really given you a me me me story but I wanted to empathasize and give you a postive outcome

Also I focused on improving my diet and exercise routine which helped and provided a focus for me.

Hi, can I join you thread please? I am TTC number 3 though dp has 2 from first marriage so will be 5th child between us.

Hi Memoo .

Nice to see some new faces appearing as so many wagoners have taken their lovely beans off to the ante-natal thread. Has been very quiet around here but hopefully there are a few more of us (waiting to) ttcer's around now to chat.

As you can guess from the name we are waiting until xmas to start trying for DC1 - I am getting really impatient now - December has never seemed so far away .

Hello I've found you.
The bleeding has now stopped after mc last week,so now I can wait for AF. I'm looking forward to it in a weird way, cos then I'll know where I'm at, and can work out when we'll be ttc again.

SesHashadafab12weekscan · 28/10/2008 18:05

Hello all and welcome Claire and memoo

VickyJane - glad bleeding has now stopped. They normally say 3-6 weeks for first AF and I know what you mean about looking forward to it - I did and I was lucky as it didn't take long. Hope it won't for you either.

cantwaitforxmas - Just think about the short period of time left for getting sorted for Christmas and that will make December seem very near!! I always end up leaving things too late but bought my first present today!

I know this is the ttc thread but... I had my 12 week scan today and all is well!! (Just realised you've probably all guessed that from my slight change of name!!)

Claire236 · 28/10/2008 18:43

Thanks GYo. As noone knows we're trying I'm keeping my concerns to myself which doesn't help. From now until Christmas going to be really busy anyway so hopefully will take my mind off things.

Thanks for the welcome

Can I be really dim and ask what the abbreviations on the list mean?

Report
SesHashadafab12weekscan · 28/10/2008 18:52

ttc stands for trying to conceive and DC stands for Darling Child. So ttc dc1 is trying to conceive first child and so on..

Other commonly used ones are AF (Aunt Flo = period) and GOF (Good ol' fuck) as we don't BD (Baby dance) on this thread, we just get on with it!

There's also a useful list of abbreviations and acronyms if you click on the link at the top of the page under "useful stuff" but anything else just ask!

Hey Gruffs, good to be back and a bit cheeky of me to dive in with a new thread I know, but that old one was on its very last legs!

Hi BB, I'm an oldie that name changed, I arrived about the same time that Calsworld took a very long break..., good to see you back!

I had a mc at the end of August. I've had one complete cycle since then and am on CD30 today, expecting AF any day. I'm not actively ttc as it appears I have quite a troublesome gall bladder and really need to have it taken out. I've got an appt with a consultant on Nov 12th and am hoping to get on with the op ASAP. This years been really pants for me with a tremendous 42 days sick leave for tonsillitis, the miscarriage and the gall stones so it would be really nice to have the op in 08 and start completely fresh in 09 (except I'll not be having my tonsills out for a bit but we'll skip over that for now!).

I think me and BB are the longest serving wagonners now - I'm sure it will be our turn soon

So, what's everyone up to?

Hiya. Just want to get back on board the thread. Thank God for half term! Off to London with DD tomorrow and so looking forward to catching up with all my girly friends.

Ses, I am so delighted for you that your 12 week scan went so well!

LaTour - have been wondering where you've been!!! Now I know! How are you doing?

I've had a bad month and feeling very down about ttc. Not helped by a friend announcing her 2nd pg who had her 1st at the same time as me. Am also going to miss OV time this cycle as on a hen weekend at the crucial time. Oh well! DH and I are taking pro-natal supplements and I have cut out alcohol altogether. Will be seeing my GP in Jan if not pg by then as it will have been a year.

Blardy nora, that took me ages to post as I'm watching Holby at the same time and trying to work out what's going on as I've not watched it for weeks!

BB, I remember you posting ages ago about changing job, but can't believe you've been there 2 months already. I'm so glad its worked out, wish I'd done the same thing really as I find it all really stressful but am a bit of a chicken - devil you know and all that.

Also, signs sound good when will you be due for testing - how long is your cycle normally?

VickyJane, I know how you feel about the wait, it wasn't so long ago for me, although it also feels like a lifetime ago. When AF arrived it was a bit of a shock and very bittersweet, it was 4 weeks for me. I found it helpful to think of it as a new beginning.

Claire, don't feel down, it can take a while to find your cycle, I think what GYo said about spending some time focussing on you and your health and relaxation may help your AF to come along. I've read on here that reflexology can help a number of things in pregnancy, so had a quick google and found this article. Just thought maybe worth looking into?

Kooky!!!!! Hi I've missed you my friend! I've been on holiday for a week too for the first time in ages, after the mc we decided to sod it all and go. I went with my mum and dad as well as DH and DS of course, we just got back on Saturday, a much needed break.

BB - that sounds interesting BB! I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you

Cals - agreed the other thread had become somewhat stagnant and needed a revamp

Sorry to hear you are feeling down Kooky - hopefully London and catching up with girly friends will cheer you up!

Also, KK, don't write this month off completely - sperm can survive for 3-5 days depending on fitness / age etc so perhaps if you get a GOF in before the weekend and one after, you could hit lucky? Also, have you tried pre-seed - both Diege and I got pg first time we tried it and I'll be using it again when I start ttc'ing again?

Also, are you sure you know when you're OV'ing or are you lucky enough to have lots of obvious signs ? Do you use OV sticks at all? I've never tried them coz for some reason I feel like they'd be too complicated but if I don't fall quickly will give it a whirl next time around. Sorry if this is all irrelevant to you....just racking my brain trying to help...
