AF due today. I have a short luteal phase (10 days) but usually like clockwork. I am charting so know I ovd but can't use my temps to consider pg as they are all over the place due to disturbed sleep.

Took an early response test today and was BFN. So....as they are so sensitive I would assume that they would pick a positive up at 10 days. Am I right?

No signs of AF at all. Do I need to test tomorrow or wait awhile?

Thanks.

Anyone advise? Bit confused as thought Early Response would pick it up.

it isn't over till AF arrives so I would leave it a couple of days and retest - good luck

I would wait, but would think your bfn was quite reliable.

Well took temp today. Now officially 2 dates past normal luteal phase. Both my last 2 temps were taken 2 hours earlier than normal as my sleeping patterns are a bit mad at the moment. Anyway the last 2 temps are just below the coverline - however if I do temp adjuster they bring me way up, with no signs of the curve falling to AF as normal. Does this mean poss pg or not????? HELP!

Will leave it and test again tomorrow maybe.

TBH I am terrifed if am pg. I think we decided to 'give it a go' for around 3 months but I never thought I'd get pg the first month of trying!!!!! Be careful what you wish for! Plus I am no spring chicken so if am pregnant it will be astounding. We only did it twice in the fertile window.

Anyway whatever happens....que sera sera.

Can anyone who charts comment on the issue about the temps above/below cover line?

Just really confused and still no sign of AF....

Hi fifi

Re your question about temps, you can adjust your temps if you have taken them early although you can never be sure that they will be accurate. Usually high temps that continue for 18 days post ovulation indicate pregnancy, though not always. I have seen charts with continuing high temps even though def not pregnant (I teach charting). Maybe you are having an anovulatory cycle which would usually be a little longer than usual? It is completely normal for all women to have about one cycle in every 13 in which they do not ovulate - ovaries just having a rest. On the other hand maybe you are pg and just not producing enough HCG yet to make the test positive. Amount of HCG depends on when the implantation process completed.

HTH

Thanks for replying. I think I have ovd as had clear temp shift, it's just since then my temps have been difficult as waking at odd hours and not being able to go back to sleep!

I suppose I will just have to wait and test again later. Sigh.......
