TTC & Evening primrose oil.

is it safe to take epo when TTC? I'm taking it as my moods with PMT are quite bad, but with it even after a few days of starting, I feel so much more level headed.

is any one else/has any one else took it and everything been ok?

I've read that large doses can cause contractions so I would imagine those are best avoided.

However one day's dose of Zita West DHA (which they recommend taking while TTC and then throughout pregnancy) contains 200mg of EPO. I emailed them to ask about that and they said that size dose is fine.

is zita west good for pmt as well?

I wouldn't know as I don't really have PMT and take it as one of my ttc/pre-natal supplements.Have you thought about maybe switching to flax seed oil?  I'm sure I've read (somewhere on MN?) that it has the same properties. That might be worth looking into.

Other people who take it when they are ttc say to have it until ovulation, but stop for the days following ovulation in case you have conceived. If you have not start again after AF starts again and stop again next ovulation and so on.

I just found out I am pg after 18 mths of trying. This last month I stopped taking every supplement that I was on (including evening primrose) except for folic acid. May be a coincidence, but now I am pg!

I take 1000mg of EPO but I stop after ovulation. I then start again when AF shows.

Can i just ask who of you who have used EPO til ovulation then stopped have concieved whilst doing this? Am prepared to try anything at the moment

hi sammysam, I think EPO helped me conceive - used it til ovulation then stopped. First month I used it I noticed increased CM and conceived (after 5 mths no success without). Could be coincidence but at least it didn't prevent me conceiving! Good luck!
