HAd a conversation with my OH last night about what we will do if I get pregnant.

Will we tell anyone before 12 weeks?
will we find out the sex?
Will we tell people the sex?

I imagine I will tell my mum and sister if I get pregnant, and he will tell his brothers and mum - before 12 weeks. But I don't want loads of friends knowing as I wouldn't be able to stand the fussing.

I think we both want to find out the sex, don't know why but it just seems like the natural thing to do.

Once we know I think it would be nigh on impossible to not tell people the sex.

How about you!?

with this one i told everyone as soon as i had weed on the stick! at 4 weeks.
with ds i waited til after 12 weeks as i had m/c two months before conceiving him. this time round i was a bit more laid back telling everyone not to make a fuss if i miscarried.

Hi beanieb, I'm 26 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child, could not keep the fact that I was pregnant quiet and neither could my mom so EVERYONE new before 12 weeks. I did not find out the sex in my first pregnancy and have decided to wait until baby is here this time as well before finding out. I think that if I'm going to go through a couple of hours of pain, yes there will be a baby at the end, but not knowing just adds to the excitement of it all.

That is just me, hope you get pregnant soon so good luck and enjoy everymoment of it all.

My work mate and I have teh same cycle, both 24 days and both in tune so she knows when my period is due. She asks me every month. I will have to lie to her when I DO get pregnant as I wouldn't want it getting round work straight away, plus I wouldn't want work people fussing. Those 12 weeks must go so slowly!

Speaking as someone who recently had a missed miscarriage discovered at the 12 week scan I am so glad that I had only told a few close friends and family I was pregnant.

When I got back from the hospital after the awful scan experience I felt compelled to immediately tell everyone who did know about the pregnancy that it had ended. I couldn't cope with the idea of anyone thinking I was still pregnant. If I'd told loads of people I think it would have driven me mad wondering if anyone was going to speak to me not knowing.

I have since told others about the iscarriage so its not like I'm ashamed. I just think in the first couple of weeks afterwards I would have found it hard to deal with having to break the news over and over again.

If I get pregnant again I will definitely wait.

We told my parents when I was 7 weeks and I told some very close friends. That was it until after the scan.

We found out the sex on my 34 week scan but kept it ourselves. It was so nice knowing so that we could ready and it was our little secret x

Hi there beanieb

I We have decided not to tell people until 12 weeks at least, with the exception of my Mum and a friend who knows we are trying. Having said that I might not be able to keep quiet that long!

Initially I thought I wouldn't want to know the sex but I've changed my mind, we find out in the end so why not before? I would probably tell people. I'd consider not telling people if it's a girl as I've always thought if I have a daughter I wouldn't want to dress her in pink all the time, and if they don't know they won't buy pink! But I don't think it really matters when they're little babies.

We would definitely not tell people the name as then they have a chance to express their opinions. Once the baby is here there's less inclination to criticise.

Now we just have to get pregnant
