When were you diagnosed with PCOS?. Are you having any treatment currently?.

If you are not already under the care of a gynae for this condition I would suggest that you are referred by your GP to this person.

www.verity-pcos.org.uk is a useful website to look at as well, it has lots of info on it.

There are some PCOS threads on these ttc pages which are also helpful.

Hi* MizzFalla* - I have PCOS and conceived my DD the first month of TTC. But I did loose a lot of weight and take vitamins before our first attempt. However, we have been TTC DC#2 for about 22 months now, without any luck. I have been taking metformin, in the last month have lost weight and have NOW been referred to a fertility specialist at the end of September.

So I totally understand your frustration. Do you have regular cycles?

Good luck!

x

Are you being monitored whilst on clomid?. Ideally you should be monitored with both blood tests and ultrasounds. Have you ovulated whilst on clomid?.

Clomid is often given to PCOSers as an initial line of treatment, the problem is it does not always work for all PCOSers and should infact be given to them with a degree of caution (it can encourage the production of LH; as many PCOSers have an excess of LH to start with it is not always ideal). It should only be given as well for a maximum of 6 months after which time other treatments should be tried.
