Am I pregnant?

Hello, probably a very silly question. I have been extremly tired recently and have been sick a few times for no reason, so I decided to do a pregnancy test.

I bought 2 packs of 2 cheap tests from poundland today (so 4 tests in total). I did a test as soon as I got home and the "possitive" line was there, buy a bit faint. I then did another one when my husband got home and again, it had a very faint line. I think I am pregnant, but he doesnt think I am because the line is so faint.

Any advice?

Think you pregnant

Wait til the morning and try another one. Your first morning urine has stronger levels of the hormone the tests pick up so you might get a stronger line.

My dh thought the line was too dark when I was pg with dd! He thought it should be the same colour as the horizontal line that makes the '+'

Pretty much if you've got a line you are pg, but sometimes you can just see where the line would be. That's not just faint though - that's 'if I stand by the light and hold it at an angle I can see it'!!

I think I am going to get a half decent one tomorrow, just to be sure. I am pretty sure I am,but dont want to wait till a scan or something to find out I was wrong, and then wonder if I ever was pregnat or if I had a M/C etc.

Bit shocked now, this wasn't planned, and my DD is only 7 months old! If I am, i think I must be super furtile or something as DD was concvied on the pill, and I started taking the mini pill about a month ago and I am breastfeeding.

Right, just to keep you updated. I did another one of the cheap pregnancy tests this morning and another possitive! I will get a different one when I do the food shop later, just to assure DH. But I am sure I am pregnant. It explains a lot anyway. I have been sick, extremly tired (DD has been awful sleeper, but always has been and I have never felt this tired!).

According to working it out from periods, I am only about 4 weeks. But one of the main things that made me do a test, is that I thought I was feeling movements, very similar to when I felt my DD move when I was pregnant with her. But I only had a period about a month ago?

congratualations

if you want a test that will have a stronger line persuade dh try the asda or sainsbury's own ones cos they are the most sensitive you can get.

I don't think you could be feeling movement yet, but I know what you mean.
Whenever I ahve been pregnant I have felt a sort of fluttering early on. No idea what it is, but it always gives me the feeling that something is cooking!
Congratulations.

Thank you. I will pop to sainsburys and get one of their tests when I have finished work.

I only got a faint line this time round (even when I paranoia retested at 7 weeks). I'm 22 weeks now and being kicked to pieces!

Sounds like 3 pos test, even faint ones, are trying to tell you something... Congratulations

With 3 +ve tests you sound pretty pg to me.
Dont give sainsburys anymore of your money!

I hope once the shock has worn off for you and your DH, you both feel happy at the news

Yes I am sure we will be happy about it. We are not unhappy to the point that we would consider not going ahead or anything, just not come at very good timing! lol

I know 3 tests is prob preg. But if anything were to happy, I wouldn't want DH to think that I was never pregnant or something.

Look at question 8 here. It should reassure you.

However, I know the compulsion to do another test, just to be sure, can be strong. I have a friend who got 5 positive tests and still asked the dr for a blood test!

thanks meemar, I dont think I will bother with another test. I feel pregnant and it makes sense. and yes the lines were faint, but there were 3!

chloe- you sound exactly the same as me with my first 2 dc's... DS was concieved on the pill, then i was BF and on the mini pill when i concieved DD... there is 15.5mths between them, and i wouldn't have it any other way now... Its hard work to begin with, but gets easier in time!! my dd is now 2, and will be just around her 3rd bday when dc3 arrives!! (this one was planned!!)

congrats to you!!

EachPeachPearMum · 19/08/2008 13:47

DA- I had that fluttering when i was bf too- very spooky! Was def not pg though.

Sort of. She has definatly been sicky. I wouldnt say she was fussy at the breast, but she has been fussy the rest of the time! Her sleep is all funny too.

Between my 1st and my 2nd child, happened the same to me. I got a faint positive line. I felt completely preg, all the symptoms possible.I wasn't sure what that meant so I got app at my GYN and did blood test. The HCG where really low, what explained the faint line.2 weeks after my period had to be I got it and the pregnancy finished. The exactly same thing happened to my sister and her pregnancy finished too.
Sorry to tell you that but I just want you to know that this could happen
