Pretty sure I conceived this early. Had a faint positive on day 21 of cycle (not that I was impatient or anything!)and DS is now 7 months old! Good luck.

Just to add...you probably know this, but I read somewhere that ovulation is actually 14 days from when your next period should start rather than from when your last one started in which case day 9 or so is not so far out if it was going to be a 25 day-er!

oh God, am terrified

can't face doing test yet

I mean, I would be pleased, but really shocked and also worried about the birth - eek

It depends when you ovulate. I ovulate on day 11 so sex on day 9 could most definitely cause a bfp for me.

Luteal phase (time between ovulation and af) is different for each woman. Mine is 17 days. The 14 days thing is an average or what it says in most GPs textbooks!

So, er, in short, depends when you ovulate!

Good luck.

I conceived on CD 9

I usually ovulate on day 12 or 13 of a 27 day cycle. But I ovulated on CD9, so it would have been a shorter cycle for me that month.

Well go for it then! You have a test lurking I suspect? Tho even if its negative, it could just be too early to tell so a neg isn't definite until period is due of course...but I could never wait, Im hopeless!

Don't worry about the birth - Ive had two doddles, one with no pain relief at all so it is more than possible not to suffer, trust me.

Don't forget they reckon sperm can survive for up to 7 days - all those little tads just waiting to pounce.

Hi oops,

It is possible you ov'd this early. People tend to ov 10-16 days before the start of their next period (many people don't have the standard 14 days that the textbooks claim) and of course there are people outside this range. So if your LP (time between ov and period) is on the 14-16 then it is quite possible. However, if it is on the shorter end of average then you might have got away with it. Either way as sperm can live up to 5 days CD9 is def not a "safe" day if you have shorter cycles. Only way to be certain is to test. Sods law the second you don't want to be pg you'll catch but teh second you want to be it doesn't happen!

Blimey no, definitely not that easy to conceive, Im sure you know that really...but its possible of course. You are going to have to do a test very soon or you will drive yourself mad! (Unless of course your period starts first that is...) Do let us know!!

oopsyoopssydaisy · 25/06/2008 19:46

do you have to test in the morning this early? think I have a really old pg test lurking in a drawer...

Report
OlderNotWiser · 25/06/2008 19:49

Hmm. Tricky one. Depends on the test methinks. Many can test at any time of day these days. I used to buy this sort due to my GOT TO KNOW NOW tendencies. If its really old then maybe not!! They may even have an expiry date for all I know!

If I get a BFP, I am going to faint at our combined fertility, I have to say

OlderNotWiser · 25/06/2008 19:55

Go for it, might as well use it up if its that old! (Dread to think how reliable it is mind!)
