Don't try to conceive before you actually want a baby! The most likely time to conceive is the very first time you have unprotected sex. The idea that it takes ages for everyone is such a myth. If you think it's too close, it's too close, as I presume you''ll be doing most of the looking after. If you want a gap of 15months, then go ahead, if not, hang on a bit.

agree with aloha - if it's not the right time for you, it's not the right time for you. i think the general rule of thumb is it's a good idea to wait 12 months between PGs to let your body recover between PGs - but as pumpkinseed pointed out, life doesn't always work like that!!!!

I couldn't have done it myself, but then I have had babies who don't sleep and can't imagine being pregnant and up all night. I think you should only do it it YOU want to. Personally I think it sounds close and would be a good idea to get your body some time to recover and build up its supply of vitamins. Know plenty of people who have done it and even closer in age though....Good luck with whatever you decide!

The deed is done and im pg so no need for advice anymore, unless you're a mum with an age gap of 15 months!!!

I am a mum of two DDs with 15 months between them and I warn you, its bloodly hard work but worthwhile.

Pumpkinseed, I did exactly the same. DD was 4mths old when preg with DS. At first it was hard with carrying two up and down the stairs, etc but it does get easier. DD was 13mths when DS was born and they are very close. People ask me when I am out if they are twins of all things!!
Kissinsanta, I do think the general advice is wait 18mths before trying to allow the body to recover but it is up to the individual. I told my obstetrician my plans to get pregnant quickly and he advised me to have one period at least, which I did.

I've got 17 months between my two dd's - dh and I made a joint decision knowing that I get pg very quickly (took 2 "goes" much to dh's disgust!!). BUT I was 100% behind the decision, and I really think you need to be too. It was fine, but incredibly hard work, especially in the last couple of months of pregnancy, and the first year after dd2 was born. Since then it has been fantastic, particularly as they are so close and play together all the time...but you can't guarantee that that will happen!

My advice is to hold off until you are sure you are ready to do this.

its nice to see them playing together, BUT they do fight for attention!!

Have to say that we have a 19 month age gap. As we had unprotecteed sex once when ds was about 10 months, result being dd. It is very hard work having 2 under 2 though so make sure it's what you want!
