Just wondering if there is anyone out there that is going through ivf atm. Iam going to start in the new year after being told that i have badly blocked tubes and that ivf is my only option.
Been ttc #2 now for a year. I live in Australia and will be going to Melbourne IVF clinic. Conceived ds now 2 naturally but by shear luck.
Will be making my first appointment with the councellors as soon as i can (think they are shut over the break) but was wondering does it matter where in your cycle you are to when you can start ivf.
Iam currently on CD17 of a 25 to 27 day cycle but been having some spotting today so it may be a shorter cycle? now i am worried that i will have to wait till my next cycle to start the process.
If there is anyone out there that knows or is going through ivf and would like to chat i would be eager as we are not telling anyone in RL that we are doing ivf.
Thanks for taking the time to read my rant.

Tania2 - we are going to be going through IVF in the New Year (appt 9th Feb). This will be the 3rd go - the 1st had to be cancelled due to poor response, the 2nd was successful and we now have an adorable 18 month old son. We thought long and hard before doing IVF again as we have been so lucky to have our son but we would dearly like him to have a brother or sister. From recollection it doesn't matter where you are in your cycle because the first drugs are suppressants anyway. Good luck - if you would like an IVF cycle buddie I am here

Hi Tania, I;ve had 5 lots of IUI which is slightly different to IVF but iirc, I started sniffing the nasal spray which suppresses your hormones on day 21 of my cycle. Then on day 3 of the following cycle (I was usually about 10 days later than normal because of the spray) I started my injections. Like I say, it may well be different with IVF but I don't think so. HTH and good luck

Hi Tania, just wanted to wish you luck, too. I thought I would share a story with you. My In-Laws friends (they're much closer to my age) have been TTC for years, and finally went for IVF after not getting pregnant any other way. They found out they were pregnant a month ago after their 1st attempt, and are having 3! babies, which are all doing fine so far. Maybe not quite what you wanted to hear (3 ), but it is a success story . Unlike you, they did tell people they were TTC in RL, and really wished that they didn't. Hope to see you in an ante-natal club really soon.

I am so hoping for you and Hester too, Tania. I'm not sick at all. I feel really, really good. Just kind of tired, especially as Colin has been really busy the past few days.
