The disappointment of CD 1

Hello.

So today is CD 1 so off we go again.

This is month 8 of TTC nunber 1 and I'm starting to get really disheartened by it all and really starting to worry somthing is wrong which I know is not helpful at all.

Any tips for keeping relaxed about it all and good news stories welcomed ... ... I need them today 😭 x

I feel the exact same way! I’m CD1 and feel really fed up, this month will mark 6 months and I’ve come to the realisation we’re in this for the long run which sucks. We even tried pre-seed this last cycle…

I’m cd1 today buts actually our first cycle ttc so I’m a bit of a rookie but would love to have people to chat to about it all! I did actually track using opks last month out of curiosity and seems I have a short luteal phase - hoping it’s a one off and trying not to stress before we’ve even started trying

Cd 1 here too! It's so disheartening. Tbh I find it unhelpful when people tell me to relax and have fun. It's not like I'm not living my normal life, or like I'm sitting in a dark room 24/7 staring at opks and hugging pregnancy tests!

Hello ladies. How we all doing?

I'm on CD 5 now and will soon be starting to DTD hopefully every other day until aorund CD 14.

My partner and I actually have quite a low sex drive (sorry TMI when not TTC we have sex about once or twice a week) but really going to go for it this month and open the window early.xx

Hi @Arly90, I’m CD4 now so not far behind you! We will be doing the same although I ovulate fairly late so will be BD’ing quite late into my cycle. We also usually only have sex around 1/2x a week but will be going for it this month! Excited for AF to leave and get cracking. Fingers crossed for lots of December positives x

I think I might go a month not doing ovulation tests. Make me so obsessed 🙈 might just go with how I'm feeling and relax a bit more this month.
I also have my Covid booster on the 14th so the week after ovulation so hoping that doesn't mess with my cycle 🙈 x

Hey @Arly90! AF is due Tuesday, I’ve had the most ridiculously sore and swollen boobs for days now! Which I never really get - although I also feel like AF could be coming… did a test this morning and BFN! Although I think it was too early.
When is AF due for you? Have you tested at all?

@Arly90 I tested yesterday and got BFN! So have been awaiting AF all day. Think she will turn up tomorrow

So will be onto CD1 of cycle 9 then… 😭 so know how you feel.

I’m ttc number 2 though. Have a DD who is 3 years 10 months.

AF due tomorrow for me. Woke up with all the usual cramps 😭
Did a test yesterday BFN. At least I'll be able to enjoy Christmas and then roll on cycle 9 🙈 getting impatient!

Oh no! Hoping it doesn’t come for you - not out yet! I agree though, at least we’ll be able to try and relax over Christmas with a few drinks if it does arrive - just want to know either way. Hoping it happens for you soon.

I hate this waiting when I have the cramps and back pain but no AF yet. Not going to bother testing again though.
Hope your doing okay. Your right at least we should know by Christmas so we can relax and enjoy 🎄🎅

Couldn’t agree more! I had some cramping yesterday then disappeared but I’m second guessing every symptom at the moment. I’m going to try and hold out on testing until Wednesday or Thursday if AF doesn’t arrive! Keep me updated with how you get on 😊

@moonshine160 aww big hugs. But know your not alone although it's so frustrating. Let's enjoy Christmas and get excited again in about a week 😂

I am only offering this advice because you've mentioned similar yourself, but with DS1, I ditched ovulation tests and every thing else and just had more sex. 3 times a week every week for six weeks. We did the same with DS2 and it only took us one month with him.

Joining you ladies. Cd 2 for me. But after the last 2 months I've had late periods / faint positives and then period rocks up several days late and the line fades ... and so here we go again. I already have 1 DD so am blessed but would love a sibling for her and I don't want it to get to a massive gap. So every CD1 that turns up makes me sad as it's another month lost. This month was particularly hard for me as it was the last month where it would have been a 2 year school gap. Now it'll be 3+ from this cycle onwards.
