I had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks just over 8 weeks ago, I have since had a period 27 days ago. Been having terrible cramping so decided to take a frer this afternoon, what do you think? Could this be left over HCG? After 4 weeks I was still getting a positive pregnancy test, after my period i didn't bother doing another one.
Bit of background, been trying to conceive for 5 years . I have had two miscarriages in the past 6 months. Both were conceived via IUI.
I'm driving myself mad, my app is putting me at 10 dpo. I've got another test for tomorrow morning.

I'm sorry for your losses ❤️ I think if you've had your period this is a new pregnancy. Got everything crossed this is your rainbow x

When I had my miscarriage the hospital told me to keep taking tests after a month / a period to ensure they were negative then the next month I got my bfp. We had been trying for around 18 months.

Obviously can't know for sure if your situation is the same but I would be tentatively optimistic that that's a pregnancy and not leftover HCG.

Wishing you lots of luck and positivity, let us know how you get on tomorrow (would it also be worth buying one of those Clear Blue tests that spells out pregnant not pregnant?).

You're usually advised to keep taking tests until they are negative because continuous positives could be down to retained products which might need a D&C for.

I hope this is a new BFP for you though.

The test looks exactly the same as yesterday’s and I’ve still got cramps. With it being bank holiday, I’ll call the drs tomorrow. Would I of had a period if I still had HCG in my system? This is so frustrating.

I'm sorry @Megan1591 do you have a picture? I think seeing your GP is a good idea. Was your last period normal? After my last miscarriage, I came on when I expected to but it wasn't a normal period and I spotted for a few weeks after but I had retained tissue (but negative tests).
It's horrible being in limbo not knowing, sending love x

You can have a period and still have retained products, yes.
The retained products will keep the HCG in your system.

I believe the HCG doubles after 48 hours so perhaps you will see the test is stronger tomorrow if it's a new pregnancy.

If it isn't a new pregnancy, you really need to see your GP.

@Megan1591 when you speak to your doctor tomorrow please push them to take HCG bloods and then repeat in 48 hour's time as that is the only the only reliable way to know what's going on now. Keeping everything crossed for you that it's a positive test for a pregnancy x

I left a message for EPU yesterday, hopefully someone will get back to me today.
Pictures attached are yesterday morning, last night and this morning. This mornings is completely negative. I’m still having cramps and I’m 12 dpo.
