New to the TWW - with my first it was a semi unplanned pregnancy so didn't experience this!
Anybody else around a similar time? (I think I'm around 5 dpo at the moment)
This is my second cycle but didn't properly go for it last month. Counting down the days until I can test!

🙋‍♀️ Also 5dpo! I'm not new to the TWW as we've been trying over a year for our first, but we had MC in Feb and its messed up my cycles so it almost feels like starting over again. This my first proper cycle since and I'm on day 33 but only 5dpo!

When do you plan on testing? I might test around 9/10 dpo but I'm going to try and hold out as long as possible.

Hi! It's great to hear from you
I'm sorry to hear about your MC. 💕

Not going to lie I will probably test around then! If not before. I got some super cheap ones from Amazon so don't mind wasting them!
I don't remember what it was like last time - I was quite young - so it feels like my first time trying if you know what I mean! Every little thing feels like a symptom even though it's only been 5 days 🤦🏼‍♀️
Have you experienced any signs early on?

Hi Both!

Im on my fourth cycle, this will be our 1st baby! I'm currently on cycle day 8 and normally ovulate around 14/15 so I've got a little while yet! Smile

Definitely thought it would happen really quick but I think everyone seems to think that, so trying not to get disheartened. sending you both baby dust! Xx

Hi! It's really nice to hear from you!

I know what you mean about expecting it to happen really soon! I'm the same, do you analyse every single potential symptom? I am and it's driving me crazy!

I hope this month is your month! 💕

@ClarenceTheCat 👋 hello. I'm around 6 DPO atm. This is my first cycle TTC #1. I was so ridiculously impatient I tested today 😂 obviously BFN. Counting down the days too. Have you thought about when you will do your first test?

@Madeoftea sorry to hear about your MC in Feb. Let's hope this is your lucky cycle 🍀

I might test again 8DPO - am I mad?

@ClarenceTheCat so far the only thing I've noticed is that I'm super irritable and moody and I'm craving junk food constantly. But that could also be pre period hormones so who knows! Last time my boobs were so sore I could hardly touch them but I'm trying not to compare because I know every pregnancy can be different.

I'm stocked up on the cheapies too!

Hi @carlsi6 sounds like a good time to start jumping on your OH haha. I think I always assumed it would take a while for me based on others experiences but I was still massively bummed every time AF turned up.

@charja100
I tested this morning after all that 🤦🏼‍♀️ I'm really not very patient.
Have you got any other DC?

@Madeoftea
Im the same! Sore boobs just like last time and really tired. But also know it's way too early and don't want to compare!

@ClarenceTheCat yeh I know it's so hard! I'm going to try not to test or symptom spot this month because it gets exhausting and when AF comes it sucks!! I've been normally testing around 8/9 DPO getting bfns obviously and thinking there's still hope! So I think I really need to just wait until AF is due. Every month so far I've had really sore boobs, but it's just been AF due. This month was so weird though, I had literally NO symptoms not even cramp?! Apparently that's a sign of my hormones settling down 🤷‍♀️

The only thing that's really shocked me is I was on the pill for 14 years, and I didn't expect my cycles to return so quickly. But they seem to be running like clockwork, 25 day cycle and AF pretty much shows up at 9am everytime so hopefully I'll know if it late!!

@Madeoftea haha there will be deffo lots of jumping this week! I think the past few weeks we haven't really tried straight away and just more focused around the week of ovulation but that may be where I'm going wrong who knows! This month we've gone for it from point one of AF ending so I'm keeping everything crossed. Xxx

@carlsi6 that's good that your cycles are settling down quickly! 25 days seems nice too, mine when normal are usually 33-34.

Are you ladies using opks to track?

I'm being good and sticking to no testing but honestly I think its because I don't believe there's any way it's happened this month.

Report
carlsi6 · 30/04/2021 10:06

@Madeoftea yeah I was surprised as they've been all over the place the last ten years!!

Yeah I've been using OPKS. Just the cheapies, I'm tempted to buy a clear blue if we have no luck this month as theyre quite hard to read sometimes. I've definitely been getting strong surges (hopefully what I think have been peak) in my week of ovulation, I can usually tell as well; slight dull pain & loads of egg white CM. But if nothing this month deffo think I'll get a clear blue! What about you? Xx

Gnashaloulou · 30/04/2021 10:49

Morning!! Can I join you ladies on the 2ww?

I am on CD13. Normally my cycles are around 24/25 days so according to the apps I use I am probably just past ovulation (although I am not tracking that as we are supposed to be taking the relaxed approach to ttc!!)

Planning to test around the 11th May as that will be when af due.

Not holding out much hope this month because we haven't been particularly active really Grin. Dtd once a few mornings ago, but it only takes the one time or so they say haha.

Last month I must've spent a small fortune on pregnancy tests only for af to show up bang on time...so this time I won't test until the day she is due if still no sign of her. I usually have spotting a couple of days before so I kinda know if she's on her way...but then spotting could also be a sign of implantation bleeding so I will take that with a pinch of salt.

Good luck all! Lots of babydust xx

Madeoftea · 30/04/2021 11:07

@carlsi6 yes cheapie opks for me too. I use the easy@home ones and find them quite clear to read especially with the premom app. My peak can appear and then disappear in the space of 24 hours or so though and I almost missed this month where it was so late but we did manage to dtd a couple of times quickly. The clear blue seem easier but I can't bring myself to part with the cash!

@Gnashaloulou hi! I tried the relaxed approach for about 6 months and then I was getting so frustrated at nothing happening I went onto the opks. Turned out that my tracker apps were estimating ovulation a week earlier than it was actually happening for me. Your cycles are fairly short though so you have less time to cover, we were getting worn out! 😂 have you been trying for long?

Report
Gnashaloulou · 30/04/2021 11:32

@Madeoftea I think I will give it a few more months and maybe try opks if still not having much luck.

Ideally I wouldn't say no to dtd every couple of days throughout the whole of my cycle haha, covering all bases and all that...but unfortunately dp's sex drive isn't as high as mine and the last thing I want to do is make it feel like a chore to him. Strangely (or perhaps not) he always seems much more frisky during what I believe is my fertile time of the month. Possibly just a coincidence. I don't tell him when I think i'm most fertile as again, I don't want to put pressure on him. Maybe it has something to do with a deep subconscious basic primal instinct to procreate...and his male hormones can sniff it out??? Hmm Grin

At the moment I'm happy to just go with the flow. Came off the pill in December, but this is really only the second cycle we've actually said "right, if it happens it happens!!" So very early days. But I find myself feeling more and more impatient as the days go on. And my god there seem to be pregnant women and babies everywhere!!! I am so broody it is unreal. xx

carlsi6 · 30/04/2021 12:22

@Gnashaloulou welcome! I think you're pretty much on the same lines as me really. I came off the pill at around the same time. We started trying in January but to be honest I don't really count that as my body was still getting used to it I suppose!

I know exactly what you mean. I think in our heads I'm thinking I should DTD everyday. But it's exhausting LOL and I don't want it to become a chore. Hopefully every other day with a few extras in peak week should work! I'm keeping everything crossed for everyone this month xxx

I'm the same! I was on the pill since my daughter was born - she's almost 4 - and periods have returned like clockwork!

@Madeoftea
I'm using the cheap OPKs too - seem to be working fine. I used them before we started trying to know when not to DTD 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Gnashaloulou
Hi, welcome! Your post made me laugh - I know the right time of the month based on similar!

How are you ladies going today? Any interesting symptoms?
I had the worst cramp ever - had to take paracetamol at work! New for me as I normally only ever get it the day before AF. Clutching on to any signs.

@ClarenceTheCat well... really weirdly I felt funny before. Had a teeny cramp and when I went to the toilet lots of egg white cm (sorry I know TMI) quickly took an OPK and it's quite dark but I wouldn't say peak. Could this mean I'm possibly ovulating this week so very early this month? Don't really know if that's a good thing as I'm only on cycle
Day 9 🤷‍♀️ ! Will keep tracking Xx

How are you getting on? Have you tested yet or got any symptoms xx

@ClarenceTheCat I haven't taken a test yet either, trying to hold out as long as I can. No symptoms at all but I might test in a few days to cushion the blow of AF.

Have you tested again? Symptom spotting?

@carlsi6 it definitely looks like you're nearly there! Did you take any more?

I think I'm I'm just symptom spotting - I had cramps on Friday, sore boobs, (But normally get this before AF - although not this early normally!) heart burn and idk if it's related but lower back pains!
I took a test which was negative but I'm not due till Sunday/Monday so it wouldn't actually show anything. I've got issues with testing 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Madeoftea - that's all my symptom spotting above! It's ridiculous... I need to find something else to focus on. Being off work today isn't helping!

It's strange because with my daughter I cant remember any of it because I wasn't expecting to get pregnant! So I've got no idea what to expect.

@ClarenceTheCat I'm the same can't remember any symptoms I had before my last pregnancies. I only tested when I was a week late. Whereas with my mc I had early symptoms but maybe it was because I was more aware of them.
