Experiences with first response rapid response?

Hi, all I hope this isn't insensitive. I wasn't sure where to put the thread? But we have two DC already a third wasn't in our plans, but my period is late, only 2 days ish, but cycles can be irregular. DH and I only slept together twice this month (looking back, and after working this out, it would have been around ovulation, but this was two weeks ago, plus we used a condom) but yesterday I tested, mainly because I've had some funny symptoms, using first response rapid response and got a shadow! This morning I've tested again it's still vvvv faint with a hint of pink! But how can this be so? Surely two weeks after the deed it would be darker? I'm panicking, please help me work this out.
I know I have to test again in afew days but I feel so worried.

It doesn't look to have colour in the photo but in real life there is definitely a hint of pink to the line.

Could you have ovulate later than you think? Sperm can survive for up to 5 days before getting to the egg aswell.
Also think that the rapid response ones require a higher amount of hcg (think it's maybe 100 v 6.3 for the early response)

Thank you for replying @Alicespring yeah I have thought this could be a possibility. So if we last had intercourse on Monday the 15th of this month, say the sperm did hang around for five days, that takes us up to 20th or there abouts, it's 30th today and... I don't know! Would I likely have a positive yet? I tested with a 25mui one step too and that's stark white! Am I still testing too early? My last af was 1st of march (so 30 days ago) god I'm so confused!! The first response I used was a rapid response, picked up the wrong ones, so I hoping that because the 25mui test is negative this rapid response is faulty??

So say you did ovulate on the 20th that would make you 10dpo and I've seen people on here not get a positive till 13/14dpo so it could be that your hcg isn't high enough or it is faulty. I've never had much luck with those one step ones but when I tested on 14dpo with the rapid response I got a blazing positive. Maybe leave it another couple days since your high doubles every 48 hours? Or if you're impatient like me pick up the early detection one!

But also on the flip side I've heard of first response giving off lots of indents recently so it could also be that!

Thank you so much for all your help! Just a waiting game then I guess. Must be patient. Good luck in your journey @Alicespring

Hi I had a first response rapid result from Amazon like this but I noticed like your mine had no branding or indicator on the stick.
I also had a faint line, but then also had negative with other tests so unsure if it was an indent, a fake test or a chemical.

Order the first response early response or buy from chemist/asda. They detect 6iu/ml hcg so they're the best tests x

Oh thank you @tuxedocat that's interesting!
Yes they were from amazon! Will definitely buy some different tests!

The rapid response in the photo is a fake! I've recently got 2 packs from Amazon and both are fakes. If you look at the packaging it's even advertised as the fake (no branding, different logo at the end etc). I don't know if they work the same, I'm not saying the line isn't there which it clearly is. You should test on another brand or the real version. I do see a faint line though 🤗 hope you get the answer you want!

@choccrumpet yes I had this - Amazon did refund me but I was pissed and it’s hard to know if the line is real or not.
@Misspacorabanne hope you get the result you want ❤️

Thankyou @choccrumpet yes, I've just asked for a refund! Your right it's clearly a fake, I noticed the foreign writing on the packet but I hadn't actually noticed the actual test was missing the logo until you guys pointed it out, so thank you! Smile
