TWW starts... ovulation day today! Anyone else?

Hi ladies!

Anyone else ovulated today? I'm pretty sure I did after a peak OPK yesterday and now starting the dreaded TWW... my first as we're on cycle 1. I'm CD16 with a generally 30 day cycle.

Would love some company as I inevitably drive myself absolutely loco over the next fortnight 😂

Any early symptoms I can look out for to keep me occupied?!

Good luck to everyone!

Also does anyone know whether it's worth DTD the day after ovulation? We were too shattered today but if we have a bit more energy tomorrow might give it a go...!

I’ll jump on board! I got my peak today so ovulating tomorrow which will be cycle day 14 for me. First time I’ve got a bang on CD14 ovulation! Text book right there!

Feeling good this month. I’ve started drinking pomegranate juice, eating pineapple core and Brazil nuts. I read it all helps with a cushy implantation, so thought I’d give it a go!

DTD tonight and tomorrow which should cover the window, but agree doing it the day after ovulation is definitely worth a shot too!

HaresHoping Thu 11-Feb-21 21:35:13

Hey @cat8986! Thanks for keeping me company. Omg those are some amazing tips, I need to go and purchase several pineapples 😂 fingers crossed it does the trick for you. Are you TTC your first? This is our first ever cycle so all a bit new to me!

Take a look at this article, it explains it all really well -

www.ohbabynutrition.com/blog/pineapple-for-conception-brazil-nuts-for-implantation

A few ladies have mentioned about eating pineapple core after ovulation, instead of before, but I’m doing both just in case. I don’t know what the pomegranate juice does in all honesty! But again, I’ve read it from a few ladies on here and after all the threads I’ve read, these ladies really are the experts I think!

We’re trying for our first too 🥰 all a bit scary isn’t it! Actually making that decision and delving into the world of TTC. Currently cycle 4 for me. The first couple of months I was really disappointed as I thought it would just happen. But now, understanding it can be a marathon, not a sprint, and just relax into it!

Are you taking folic acid and vitamin D too?

sasbiscuit Fri 12-Feb-21 08:03:32

I thought I ovulated yesterday but my temp has stayed the same today, so guessing it's not quite there yet! I'm currently CD12.

HaresHoping Fri 12-Feb-21 08:21:43

Ooh thank you @cat8986 I'll have a read! Well pomegranate juice is delish so I don't mind having an excuse to drink it haha ☺️ yeah it is a bit scary all this! I've been looking forward to it for a long time but now a part of me is like "what are you doing you lunatic, what about all the vodka and dancing" (I'm 34 for context and haven't been to a club in years 😂)

Yep I'm taking higher dose folic acid as my mum's got severe spina bifida (doesn't tend to be inherited but good just as a precaution). Also on the vitamin D too.

Hi @sasbiscuit! Still in the game then. Do you usually ovulate around now? I know it can fluctuate month to month can't it. I've had a spike today but a dip yesterday so will have to wait and see if I get a cover line on my app.

Are you ladies using any apps to track stuff?

Hi ladies,

Can I join?

First month TTC baby#1 after unexpected pregnancy and MMC early jan. Invested in some clear blue ovulation sticks and surprisingly got a static smiley yesterday after just one day of flashing! Also a lot earlier than usual for me (CD 15 and I think I usually ovulate around CD 20-25) so think the MMC has changed my cycle! I've heard you're often more fertile post pregnancy?

Feeling positive so hoping we get lucky! DDT last night and this morning and will go again tonight 🥳

Feel like the next 2 weeks will be a struggle so nice to have some support 😘

HaresHoping Fri 12-Feb-21 18:31:41

Hey @Lolajames welcome! Lovely to have you with us. I'm so sorry to hear about your MMC. Hope you're okay. I have heard that you can be more fertile after pregnancy too! Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 great news on the speedy static smiley. Really hope this cycle is successful for you!

@sasbiscuit and @cat8986 how are you ladies feeling today? When can we start the fun crazy symptom spotting... is it around 5DPO?!

We DTD this eve (early as he's on with the lads later 😂) but this is def the last poss day of my fertile window so I'm well and truly in the TWW now. Let's hope we all get lucky!

How are we all doing today ladies?

On my Femometer app there's a 'Two Week Wait Survival Course' - I'll share bits as I go through! Today's lesson is all about nutrition. I'm planning to have pancakes for brekkie today but after that I swear I will get on the spinach...

So yesterday's spike in temp seems to have gone back down again slightly. No idea what that means... (probably that I'm not doing it right, Femometer told me I need to improve my habits but not explained how 😂)

Hey I hope I can join too. I am ttc #1. I had a MMC early November, and so far on cycle 3 trying again.
I think I ovulated on the 11th (peak OPKs 9th and 10th, DTD both days)

So 2 DPO today. And started again with my decaf teas and being a bit more gentle with exercising!

I'm a serial POAS so I am trying not to be that person this time and hope I can hold out till at least 12 DPO- That's when my app suggests taking a test. But we will see!!

Hope the TWW passes quickly for us all 😊

xRRx Sat 13-Feb-21 08:24:57

@HaresHoping
I was munching on walnuts and almonds yesterday without knowing this!
Also I get brocolli and spinach into my dinner at least 4xweek so got that covered 😊

HaresHoping Sat 13-Feb-21 09:24:20

Hey @xRRx welcome! I'm 2DPO too so we are in sync. I'm so sorry to hear about your MMC.

I'm really expecting I'll be POAS at the first opportunity too but trying to hold out 😂 let's make a pact that we hang fire until at least 12DPO! I might try to wait until 27th as I'd prefer to test on a Saturday if I can I think so I can take it in either way without having to work.

You're on the right track then food wise! Meanwhile I had pizza last night... off to the shops for veggies and nuts today ☺️

xRRx Sat 13-Feb-21 12:08:20

@HaresHoping I had a lot of cake last night a s a sausage roll this morning so I'll need to make up for this!!

I think the 27th would be the best time for me to test as AF due then. So how about we aim for then, and if we give in on 12 DPO so be it

HaresHoping Sat 13-Feb-21 13:47:15

@xRRx that makes me feel lots better 😂

It's a deal! Let's try our best to stay strong x

Morning everyone! How are you all today?

I'm currently very chilly as our boiler broke overnight on Friday 🥶

Thought I'd share with you today's little activity from my Femometer TWW course... it's all about gratitude and lowering stress. Bit cheesy but quite sweet and I might give some sort of journaling a try! Does anyone else do anything like this?

Also I got my crosshairs on FF today woo! Officially 3DPO.

xRRx Mon 15-Feb-21 07:03:27

Hi everyone, hope you've had a nice weekend. I am trying hard not to symptom spot already. Had headache and nausea last couple of days but I think it was a mild migraine.

@HaresHoping hope your boiler is fixed!

My app is now saying 8 days till pregnancy test. So a week and a day! I can do this! 😂

xRRx Mon 15-Feb-21 07:04:19

@HaresHoping not tried journaling but it sounds like a great idea

Bee44 Mon 15-Feb-21 08:08:53

Jumping on this thread too! It's also my first time TTC, 2nd cycle after I came off the pill in January. I'm not using OPK's just yet because I feel I'd get too obsessed with those so I've just been symptom spotting for ovulation which I believe happened on the 13th. I have super short cycles so I hope I got this one right, Google tells me I can test 6 days early from the 25th but I might just hold out for my AF ... we'll see!

HaresHoping Mon 15-Feb-21 08:12:43

Hey @xRRx that's exciting about the test date! Mine is saying 2nd March 😂 apparently it's longer than usual because it's my first cycle recording properly etc so it's not got the data it needs to predict accurately yet. Think I'll do it on 27th/28th if AF doesn't arrive as predicted on 26th/27th.

I've had very dull smidgens of headaches too but I think I'm imagining it or always have it but never usually notice. Probably due to the lack of heating tbf haha. Also got what almost feels like ovulation pain but I know I already ovulated? Weird. And a shooting pain in my boob! But I think I get that randomly a lot.

Still no working boiler... my head looks like a chip pan 😂 will not be going on camera for any meetings today. At least I can WFH!

HaresHoping Mon 15-Feb-21 08:15:08

Hey @Bee44 welcome! Eek how exciting. So you're 2DPO? It's very easy to get obsessed with the OPKs so you do right holding off a little bit! I found it useful but it also told me what I already knew really. I think the main thing is being in tune with your body as much as poss.

OP’s posts: |
Bee44 Mon 15-Feb-21 08:56:38

@HaresHoping I believe so, just going by signs though so I might be wrong but they were the exact same last month too. I'm such a symptom spotter 😂 but main ones for me are CM changes, increased libido and feeling a little bit warmer (I'm never warm so temperature changes are always pretty obvious for me). The TWW is killing me already!!

cat8986 Mon 15-Feb-21 10:17:48

Hi ladies! I’m catching up!

@HaresHoping I’m 34 too ☺️ When we started I was like ‘it needs to happen soon, I’m running out of time’ but the reality is so far from that when you read so many stories on Mumsnet and women having their first babies later. I’ve learned to accept that it’ll happen when it happens and it can’t be forced, so that’s really helped me relax about it.

I’m on folic acid and vitamin D too, which I was taking a year or so before TTC. Have used Flo for years just to track my period, but then I started using OPK when started to TTC and downloaded Premom to help with reading them.

I’m now using Clearblue digital OPK as I was getting sick of holding my wee to test 3 times a day on the IC 🤣 Clearblue is so much more straightforward! Are you using any?

Currently 3dpo today! Still having pineapple and 4 Brazil nuts a day. I finished the pomegranate juice I had so will need to buy more of that. Other than that, eating as healthy as I can, no caffeine and no alcohol. Never thought I could cut out all that, but the fact I’m TTC overrides any desire to eat and drink naughty things, no matter how much I crave a glass of wine every now and again 😆

I won’t be symptom spotting (she says!) it will keeping on eye on things that usually happen in the lead up to me period. I usually have very sore nipples and heavy boobs, and also spot before my period, sometimes upto 7 days before. So if they don’t turn up, I’ll be feeling very optimistic!

Will wait until AF is due before testing, 26th Feb. Pencil it in! 😆

cat8986 Mon 15-Feb-21 10:26:49

@xRRx @HaresHoping
I can see we’ve all got similar testing days, 26th/27th....!
anyone else!? 🤞🏻😆

Lolajames Mon 15-Feb-21 10:38:32

Hey ladies happy Monday!

I think I'm now 3DPO....got my static smiley Thursday and DTD lots but my natural cycles app is unsure if I've ovulated as although my temp raised a little I don't think it was high enough for the app to tell me I've ovulated. Anyone have experience of this? I'll be so gutted if my body was all set for ovulation and then didn't! Hopefully I did and I just don't get a big temp spike....

How's everyone feeling? X
