Really fed up of AF showing up month after month now πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ we've been taking the see what happens but dtd lots approach. But now going into month 7 so We've decided to use the clear blue opk's to see if it gives us a better chance. πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
Now to just wait for AF to disappear πŸ˜€

Any one else ttc #1? πŸ˜€

Hello, I have just posted a similar thread as we are 7 months in and lost and losing hope! I have never posted before nor commented so new to this but I have tried the clear blue opks and they were good! However I did find that it varied depending on the time of day. We do shifts which make things difficult. We used 4 or more days and I found I was high one day at 9am but then not ovulating the next day at 6am due to the lack of hormone build up. If you can be consistent with them they are handy. Sorry I can't say I've had the best luck with them though confused

I hear you @rosiej95 😞, I swear it's lockdown there's nothing to take my mind off things. I have been using OPK's but not clearblue, should hopefully ovulate in the next few days. I only had a 25 day cycle and 8 day luteal please last month which has made me really anxious that it's not going to be easy.

Hi @Loops01 πŸ‘‹

It's frustrating isn't it but 🀞🏻 we will get our bfp's soon!
Ahh thats interesting to know. This'll be my first month ever using them.
I'm off work until the government say, so I am lucky to be able to be consistent atm.
I've also heard great things about preseed too.

@glow92 yes lockdown isn't helping the symptom spotting at all! However am very great full to have more energy to dtd πŸ˜‚
I looked into a few opk but the fact I didn't need to look at lines and it basically tells me I thought was good.
Ahh ok I've not even looked at luteal phase, thats interesting tho might be worth looking into πŸ€”

I think this is it we spend so much time avoiding pregnancy & we get told that all we need to do is have sex once & were pregnant & it's like πŸ™„ that's not actually the case is it sometimes πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
hopefully tho this is our year! πŸ₯°

I use the easy@home ones as I can take pictures of them and the app they have records them all side by side for comparison. However all dates on said app have now gone west after having that weird cycle last month!

I haven't used preseed but I'm trying conceive plus lubricant this month which I believe is similar - just a few times in the fertile window... who knows if it will make a difference or not!

rosiej95 Thu 11-Feb-21 09:50:19

@glow92 ahh I didn't realise you could do things like that.
How long have you been using them? Was it just that month?

It's always Worth a try, you never know πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈβ˜ΊοΈ

I've used them the last couple of months, helpful as with a short cycle I would have assumed I ovulated days earlier and could potentially miss my window!

I really hope it's just my body settling down still from being on the pill so long... just so frustrating all the waiting.

LemonDrizzle44 Thu 11-Feb-21 10:14:57

Hi. I'm TTC #1 and am on cycle 6. I came off the pill a year ago and have been tracking BBT as I have irregular cycles. We've been trying the relaxed approach and DTD regularly. This month I'm trying OPKs to see if it helps.

km1990 Thu 11-Feb-21 11:08:15

Hi Everyone, i'm also TTC #1 an on my 6th cycle. i'm currently 1 day DPO and hoping for the best this cycle, but its hard to keep positive when we've not been successful in the past. I'm luckily that I have very regular periods and ovulation days, almost exactly the same every month, but then again also frustrating as it makes me think why hasn't it happened!!

I would agree with @glow92, i've been using both clear blue and easy@home opks, and while clear blue is easier to read and less faff, I do find that easy@home gives you a more exact peak so you can better time the baby dance. For example, clear blue gives you a set 48 hour window that is your peak time, however in my experience when I use easy@home alongside clear blue, my peak is actually closer to the end of that 48 hour window clear blue gave me.

Just my opinion but thought i'd share!

I also use conceive plus and hope it helps. Fingers crossed for a BFP soon!!!

It is nice to see others are at the same stage and I am not the only one! Feels like it at times. My friends used the lube and they swear by it but we have been using it now for 3 months (and now we have to hey another one because apparently only lasts 3 months after opening it) and had no luck. Going to try more vitamins and sitting with my legs hung from the ceiling for a long time haha. Please let me know how everyone gets on this month and months to come. I don't know how to really use and abuse mums net yet but will keep an eye on the post. Best wishes to everyone trying this month. I have AF atm so a few weeks before we can go at it again!

rosiej95 Thu 11-Feb-21 17:43:03

@km1990 @glow92 if the clear blue doesn't work this month then I might try those. All this opk is completely new, there has been so much googling haha.

@Loops01 I've heard a lot of people say the same as your friends but I'm yet to try it atm.
none of our friends know we're ttc I would never have known about half the ttc things if it wasn't for this ha.

@LemonDrizzle44 Hi πŸ‘‹ it's been nice doing the relaxed approach but ready to mean business with it all now πŸ˜‚ im hoping that doing opk will still be slightly relaxed tho πŸ˜‚

@rosiej95 I felt the same way. I didn't want to tell people as I felt embarrassed about it not happening as quick and only spoke to a couple of friends about it. Some were understanding of my feelings and a lot of others think that I am thinking about it too much, I am stressing myself out or I am to blame in some way for not being pregnant and it really upset me. It upset me more when I realised it is normal not to fall pregnant quick but it is not spoken about so now when people ask I just say we are trying. Most don't really know what to say. We married about 6 months ago and I swear there is at least 1 person every week asking when we are having kids. It really started to get on my nerves but being mor open helped. They never teach you about getting pregnant at school in my day. It was all about contraception and stopping pregnancy so it is nice to speak more openly about it. I understand everyone is different and if you can keep it to yourself without it getting to you then good. I do wish people didn't ask as much haha

glow92 Thu 11-Feb-21 21:17:18

I'm using the conceive plus minis with the applicator... I think it could be the same product as the larger bottle to use externally though.

Another pregnancy announcement today.. only been together a matter of months and weren't trying 😞. I've told one friend that I don't see very often and it was go good to offload, but I really don't want to talk about it a lot to family and friends and I'd just feel the pressure even more.
I'm sure if I did though I would find out that they too may have struggled for a while also.

CD14 and still nothing on OPK's, looks like I'm in for another too-short luteal phase πŸ™.

glow92 Thu 11-Feb-21 21:22:09

Just to add, I ended up having to tell my partners step-mum to back off asking about when we are having kids! πŸ˜‚ it was getting ridiculous... (we're fine, she understood in the end!) I just find it strange how women can do that to other women when they know themselves it's not that easy.

Loops01 Thu 11-Feb-21 22:57:04

@glow92 glad you and your partners step mum are good but it is difficult and I totally feel you! I have spoken to a lot of people about it now (only in the last month) and only 1 person has said that he and his wife tried for 7 years before being told that she had issues with her tubes. They had 2 children since with IVF. Also 1 other person (the male) is trying also and he has been trying for a few months more but they are both 38+. One of my other friends is hoping to try soon. She will be 32 and he will be 47. She thinks they will have issues. I really hope she doesn't and I hope she can conceive without issues but I am also a bit worried about being upset if she gets pregnant before I do. She never wanted kids until recently. I have wanted forever in comparison. I wish I tried earlier but you never know until you try. It is a lot of pressure for us females. Males don't have much they need to do or change. Wish it was then peeing on a stick every month haha

glow92 Fri 12-Feb-21 11:25:21

She's a bit too loose with her words sometimes, and thoroughly enjoys a drink which doesn't help!
Oh wow, 7 years... I'm pleased it worked out for them in the end. Me and my partner are both 28 so hopefully that's on our side, it's just my short cycles and LP that's scaring me.
I understand you completely, I'd never want to see friends struggle but when it happens really fast we'll always ask ourselves why not us!

rosiej95 Fri 12-Feb-21 12:30:54

@Loops01 @glow92 we don't get asked about kids too much off parents but I think that's cause when they mention about kids I tell them that have a grand-doggy πŸ˜‚ so that when it does happen it's a nice surprise for family & also takes the pressure off the questions of "has it happened yet"
I'm 27 we were originally going to start trying last February but then covid hit so we put it on hold a little. πŸ™ˆ

AF is disappearing now tho πŸŽ‰ onto a fresh new month 😍

Haha same, we have a young Labrador and he is my absolute world πŸ₯°. We actually didn't think we'd want to try before we were 30 (so pleased we changed our minds now I know it's not as simple as flipping a pregnancy switch), but due to Covid we just kinda decided why not... however because there's nothing else to do it's consumed my mind massively now.

Loops01 Fri 12-Feb-21 15:01:13

@rosiej95, @glow92 so glad I'm not the only one in this! We held off because my OH wanted to get married first. We started trying just before the wedding. It was a covid wedding so at least that was some sort of stressful distraction from wanting to try. We too have a doggo, rehomed him just over a year but if anything it makes me want kids more although I'm sure he'd destroy their cuddly toys haha. Plus im still working 40-60 hour weeks so the matty leave would be a welcomed break haha

glow92 Fri 12-Feb-21 16:33:46

Congratulations! I would secretly love a low key wedding, the idea of a big one kind of makes me anxious! Wish I had a distraction though, toying with the idea of maybe moving house.. we usually go away this time of year which is usually a lovely thing to look forward to after Xmas.
I can't wait to work less! I like my job but the company is growing and I'm not as confident in the role as I once was.

Loops01 Fri 12-Feb-21 17:06:54

@glow92 haha extreme distraction to move house! I try lots of DIY. I usually like being prepared and buying stuff but I don't want to buy childrens stuff in case something happens and we can't have but I have decided to make some nursery things
1 to amuse me 2 because I will gift them if I need to the friends that do get preggers! Starting a mobile soon. I'm crazy I know! Wedding ended up being perfect, wouldn't change it. Sadly some family were elderly and couldn't manage due to covid. It is difficult just now for others though. Only allowed the witnesses and no hope of a celebration currently. World is crazy!

glow92 Fri 12-Feb-21 18:27:03

We've renovated here but we're all jobbed up!
The location isn't idea for long-term though.
That's such a lovely idea! Hopefully you'll get to keep and use everything soon. Even in the supermarket I can't help but notice all the little clothes and think πŸ’œ.
CD15 and still no rise on OPK 😞.

Loops01 Fri 12-Feb-21 19:39:46

@glow92 what tests are you using? I found that if I tested too early it wouldnt be accurate but about 8/9am every day worked. How long are your cycles? Mine were between 36-40 but are now 28-31 but I normally tell ovulation by tests and how I feel/symptoms. Apps are getting more accurate which is handy!

glow92 Fri 12-Feb-21 21:06:22

The easy@home ones and record them on the app, the last couple days I've been testing early in the morning and then again early evening.
Since coming off the pill it's been CD16 peak so assuming 17 for Ov, and a short 25 day cycle so the luteal phase in between is too short from what I've researched. I really hope it balances out soon, I never tracked before going on the pill and then was on it for 10 years so have nothing to compare!
