How's everyone this morning? My temp didn't rise this AM but I've read it can take 24 hours after ovulation! So I'm hoping tomorrow morning as I had a feeling I was ovulating around 6pm last night 🤣 we DTD twice yesterday (and the day before) my OH said I'd left him dry 😅 I've never been as horny around ovulation before - I felt like a predator 🤣🤣🤣 very strange! Sorry TMI guys hahahah

I was just about to test OPK to make sure it had gone down but I've run out 😭 don't wanna buy any in case I jinx it 🤣 xxx

Thanks @GreenApplesYo for starting the new thread! How are you doing now btw?

@DrS44 good on you girl 😂 I'm definitely feeling optimistic for a few more graduates this month! You're right ovulation I think can sometimes happen 24-36 hours after a peak!

@Dex1521 @Emmgrem some fab looking charts there ladies. Just a few more days until testing, you can hold out @Dex1521 I believe in you 😂

Update from me, I got my appointment for 12 week scan through for beginning of feb and they've been very clear that my partner can't come. I understand of course and I'm trying to go with the flow and not get too stressed but still feels a bit disappointing!

Report
PowerOfFlowers · 18/01/2021 10:42

Oh @Bells20 I'm sorry to hear that. Which hospital are you if you don't mind me asking? I've got my 12 week scan on the 5th Feb at St Thomas. So far, partners are allowed. I am prepared for it to change though so I'm not raising my hopes up too much 😢 It's so annoying isn't it.

Report
DrS44 · 18/01/2021 10:50

@Bells20 ya I think temp rises 24 hours after ovulation so if I ovulated yesterday my temp wouldn't rise til I test again tomorrow morning maybe? & loving the positive vibes thank you 💚💚

And WHAATTT??? That is sooo shit! I thought they were allowing it now! That is seriously frustrating! I know my bestie got a private one done before hand just so her OH could join! It's actually ludicrous you're from the same household! So frustrating 🥲💗💗

Bells20 · 18/01/2021 11:16

@PowerOfFlowers thanks, I'm at the Royal London and I think the situation is particularly dire there at the moment! Hopefully your scan can go ahead with partners! I'm feeling optimistic that by my 20 week scan (hoping everything goes well before then of course!) things will be very different. I even perhaps naively have hope that in person NCT classes will go ahead in the summer. Maybe I live in a dream world 😂

@DrS44 yes definitely shit, I was hoping that recent government guidance about partners being allowed would hold true but I think it's just too difficult in my area at the moment. I wasn't going to publicly admit it for fear of looking totally insane 😂 but I did have another reassurance scan last week (thank you @PowerOfFlowers for the recommendation!) so my partner has seen baby bean recently and we know that things look ok so that definitely helps and really glad we did that now.

I caved and tested and it was obviously BFN but in my defence I used an IC and saved my FRER for 10dpo+ so not all bad 😂

A friend is due to have her baby at the Royal London in the next two weeks @Bells20 Her and her partner are having covid tests done today so he can be with her for all of the birth. Happy to ask about their experience for you after they've had their baby if you want?
Ahhh amazing, you went there! They are great there aren't they? Did you also get a keyring?? 🥰
Hah @Dex1521 POAS addict 😁 Definitely wait a few more days until you test again. What helped me was knowing I only had three tests and I wasn't going to buy anymore.

Dex1521 · 18/01/2021 11:55

@PowerOfFlowers haha yeah I have 2 FRER and keeping them for 10dpo and hopefully 14dpo if I get that far usually AF show up on 12DPO.

Is it bad that I'm wishing for a symptom I've had barely any and any I have had aren't really much. I had ache/cramp very mild for 1/2 hour this morning. The odd twinge/stabby pain in my boobs on and off today and yesterday and I've got an ulcer in my mouth which I dunno if that's a symptom but i barely get them.

GreenApplesYo · 18/01/2021 13:06

@bells20 I'm doing OK thank you. Just browsing some jogging bottoms online 🙂Not quite ready for maternity clothes yet, but would appreciate elasticated waistbands for at home, rather than walking round with my buttons undone haha.

Really rubbish about the 12wk scan. I know it's about minimising risk, but it's shit women have to potentially deal with devastating news alone. Do you think you will book a private 12wk too so your partner can be there (if that's still allowed).

@Dex1521 I didn't have any symptoms except sore boobs before my BFP. I tend to get sore boobs before AF anyway when I'm not on the pill. So I wouldn't worry too much about not feeling different 🙂 ulcers are the worst! They make me so grumpy.

@Dex1521 😂😂 of course you did. Don't think any of us can judge thats why were in POAS anon haha. Hope you're not feeling too disheartened, it's definitely still early days.

@PowerOfFlowers I did get a keyring, a nice little surprise! I popped it in the post to my mum who loved it! that would be amazing if you wouldn't mind asking them! I'll PM you if that's ok as probably not relevant to others x

@GreenApplesYo oh the appeal of jogging bottoms! It's definitely a shame but I'm pleased to hear other hospitals seem to be allowing partners. I think because we had a scan recently we probably won't get another private one- but they are defo letting partners come to private ones. But I might change my mind.. I think I've turned from
POAS addict to scan addict haha. Can I ask you a quick Q while I'm here, I know at the 12wk scan they do the nuchal measurement if you've agreed to it (I have) and a blood test, I'm assuming they can't tell you too much on the day but maybe give you a call a few days later with the result, is that right? Or do you find out what your risk is on the day?

Dex1521 · 18/01/2021 13:32

@Bells20 yeah it's prepared me for the worst atleast. Yeah I don't even think an FREE would pick much up either so puts me off doing one Which is good

@GreenApplesYo reassuring to hear that! Hoping I'm the same then ☺️

Is anyone else currently in the middle of their 2 week wait to test? its driving me crazy

Report
GreenApplesYo · 18/01/2021 14:14

@bells20 you do have to wait for the blood test results unfortunately to know for sure you're low risk.

At mine they told me that the NT was in the normal range, and when I looked at my maternity notes they had updated to show the NT was 1.3mm. This is a 'good' measurement, but I think even with a low NT measurement you can still come back with an increased risk for Downs etc based on your blood test. But I think it must be unusual for this to happen?

I think if you have a high NT measurement they would probably mention it on the day and prepare you for a higher risk result once the blood tests are done, if that makes sense? I'd assume they don't leave you thinking it's likely to be OK. I asked if my NT measurement looked alright and the sonographer said it was looking fine.

The blood test results were slow, they told me I would hear within 10 days if there was a problem, and within 3 weeks if it was all fine. So I was freaked out to have a letter through after 5 days! But the results were low risk (0.007% chance downs, even lower for the other two). I think how quickly you get the results depends on your hospital. My letter came from Newcastle, so the hospital in Carlisle where I had the scan probably doesn't do the blood tests (?) and this slows things down.

It's annoying having another wait! But the chances of Downs are so low anyway if you're under that it's probably not worth worrying about too much. I'm 35 and the chance of Downs for my age group in general is still only 0.3% I think.

@Panda368 Welcome 💖 everyone is so friendly here. Yes myself and Dex are in our TWWs and @DrS44 will be soon too! So we know how you feel. How many DPO are you? What cycle number of ttc are you?

@positivitytree2020 Nice to see you. How are you getting on atm?

@Emmgrem I can feel you judging me 😂 definitely saving my FRER I'm far too tight to buy more lol I should probably stop google image searching ("8dpo BFP FRER) and maybe it'll stop convincing me I'll see something this early lol. Had another sort of half hour of very mild dull cramps after lunch so hopefully it's promising 🤞

Hi @Panda368. A lot of people in this group have gotten pregnant recently so we count this as a lucky group! Hope you get lucky too, what is your dpo and how many cycles have you been trying for?
