8dpo - Period like cramps?

Hi Everyone!

I am 8dpo and this evening feel as though I have mild period cramps. Could this be implantation or does implantation feel different? My breasts feel heavier and fuller and I can see blue visible veins on my chests, breasts and hips, CM seems to be creamy. Other than that no other real symptoms. I am trying not to think the period like cramps are a bad sign!

I don’t have any answers I’m afraid, but I am in a similar position. I’m 11dpo today and my only symptoms are the odd period-type cramp and full breasts, not sore though.
Been having very low back pain since about 9dpo. Been feeling a little nauseous but that’s not unusual for me when AF due.

I’m hoping the cramps aren’t a bad sign for both of us! When are you planning to test?

Hi @Lemongrass9 Thanks for getting in touch. This is my second proper month of TTC and I feel as though I am analysing any twinge I have right now lol! I don’t think I feel pregnant, I mean are you supposed to actually feel it at this stage!? Fingers crossed the cramps aren’t a bad sign for us. I won’t test until AF is due so not until at least next Thursday. I couldn’t deal with the extra stress of taking the test too early! What about you?

I’m on my second proper month ttc as well, is this your first @sunshinecitrus1?
I know what you mean about not feeling pregnant, I think your mind plays tricks on you as well!
I agree about testing early, I tested on 12 and 13dpo last month only for AF to arrive bang on time at 14dpo so waiting this month. AF due Saturday so not long to wait at all ☺️ Keep getting excited but have to remind myself that AF may come and I may not be testing at all 😂.

@Lemongrass9 Ah how strange! It will be my first yeah, what about you? I guess we are both still figuring out what symptoms are normal for us. It’s so difficult as symptoms of early pregnancy and your period are very similar so it’s so hard to tell no matter how hard you analyse things! I really hope you get some good news on the weekend let me know how you get on! I still have another week, the wait is killing me lol.

Hi ladies.

I am 8dpo tomorrow! No extreme symptoms yet. I had a bit of a headache today and that's about it. I'm waiting till 12dpo to test. Good luck to you both!

Hi @BabyDust20 Nice to meet you! Ah we are in similar boats then, I am 9dpo today so just a couple of days ahead of you! How long have you been TTC? Will this be your first?

@sunshinecitrus1 yes this is my first so it’s all new. I do usually get sore boobs from about 9dpo until AF but I’m 12dpo now and boobs haven’t been sore at all, just a little bit fuller.

I miscalculated! I am actually 9dpo today too! I got my peak on the 9th using OPK strips.

My boobs haven't been hurting and I've had no cramps so far.

What day will you both be testing?

@BabyDust20 @Lemongrass9 Ah we can count down together then! Fingers crossed your cycle will settle down, hope the Letrozole helps! I am not one to test early as I think it would make me more anxious so it will likely be next Friday / Saturday for me. AF is due on Thursday. What about you?

I am so tempted to test tomorrow! I feel as though it might not be my month and my excuse is that if I just find out tomorrow then I won't have to spend my weekend worrying about it!

I just know how disappointing a BFN makes me though (even if I try to convince myself I'm prepared for it), so I'm trying to hold off. But no promises.

You have such good will power to hold off that long!!!

Hello ladies :)

Can I join? In a similar situation, 8dpo today (maybe, have irregular periods so not completely sure) and have been having mild cramps for the last two days. I’m now feeling like it’s not my month as these are the same cramps I get before AF but nice to have some support.

I also have a question. I’ve just found out that apparently, you can ovulate anywhere between 10-16 days before your next period is due. This would mean I’ve missed my potentially fertile window as I was only DTD regularly until about two weeks before my next period date. Anyone know how common it is to ovulate so late?
Sorry for the silly question, just feel a bit deflated now, thinking I might not even have been DTD at the right time!

Hi @WicketBasket you never know though, the cramps could turn out to be a good thing.
Do you use ovulation tests or monitor your temperature? I don’t do temping but from my ovulation tests I usually ovulate between cycle day 16-19 and AF usually arrives between cycle day 30-33 so I can ovulate around 11-17 days before period starts if that makes sense?

Something came over me and I caved even though it's the pm. Better luck next month I guess. I really don't feel pregnant. I doubt it will pick up anything in a few days. Guess I'll try again if I get any major symptoms. Otherwise I'll just be waiting for AF

@BabyDust20 Hi! Just catching up on the comments, sorry to hear about your BFN. Who knows, you may get some symptoms in the next few days. Some people don’t even know they are pregnant this early on! So just because you don’t feel pregnant doesn’t mean you aren’t. As @Lemongrass9 said, you’re not out yet!

@WicketBasket Welcome! I would recommend you using OPK’s and temp testing. I do both and honestly it has helped me loads in my first few months. Now I feel as though I actually understand signals my body is giving me and when to do what! I use cheap OPK’s from Savers but they do the trick for me and I bought my thermometer from Amazon

Today is 10dpo and I am feeling very tired, cranky and just a bit blah. Feel pretty tearful tonight too. It’s so hard as all of these things signs could be pregnancy or AF approaching! On the plus side so far my temp has remained elevated and I can still see blue spider veins on my breasts, chest and hips. Wouldn’t say I actually feel pregnant though!

I know you said you don’t feel pregnant but anything can happen and you’ve got time! When are you hoping to test? And you’ve got some good signs with the veins especially! I’ve never got that in all my time TTC so fingers crossed for you hun xxx
