TTC in December

Hi All,

Thought I’d start a thread for anyone looking to TTC from December. I’ve finally had my copper coil out today and the plan is to track my cycle this month and start trying from December.
Anyone else in a similar situation?

Hello...yes me! 🙋🏼‍♀️
Hopefully TTC our first baby in December, just using this month to get used to my cycle. I started taking Pregnacare Conception on 23rd Oct.
I'm currently tracking using the 'Clue' app. My next AF is due 17th Nov and my fertile days in December are shown as being 5th/6th December.

Hi!
Ahh first baby how lovely! We’re TTC baby number 2, first baby is 13 months so hoping for 2-2.5 year age gap 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
I’m tracking using Ovia - it’s the app I always have used and I’ve started using Premom - the app you take pics of ovulation sticks with as I’ve heard great things.
I’m currently CD 1 so actively avoiding this month until next AF due 29th November. I have varied cycles between 24-29 days, when we conceived our baby we found out on CD 23 so I think that was a short cycle month.

Aww baby #2 🤞🏻for you! That would be a lovely age gap! I'm going to see how I go for the first few cycles and then if need to invest in some ovulation testing kits I will do then.

Me! 🙋‍♀️ We will be TTC #2 as I have a 17 month old toddler. I’m due to ovulate around 4th December if nothing changes before then. I am also using this month to get used to my cycle, I think I am in my fertile period now!

@RandyGiles06 we will all have to keep each other updated with how we get on! Exciting times!x

So I am completely new to MN, and slowly getting to grips with the acronyms. Me and my SO have decided to stop contraception and start trying/not preventing for Baby #1 I’m on the depo which will ‘run out’ at end of December. Hope it’s okay for me to join here as other groups seem a lot further along

How is everyone getting on?

Thought I’d jump on as I was on the depo & didn’t have my last jab in November.
@Porgy657 How do you feel about ttc after the depo? Every forum I’ve read most pipes have taken 18 months to just get their periods back!
I’m pretty sure I’ve just had my AF, started 30 days after me depo was due & was 7 days. So finer crossed 🤞🏻I’ll do a ovulation test to see if I’m lucky!

Ched 1, I have no idea tbh, I’m 25 so with the thought that it may take a while to get back ‘on track’ felt now was a good time to get off it, I have had spotting etc every now and then so fingers crossed it doesn’t take that long...we are very much trying but not trying so if it happens we will be happy about it but also not in a rush! Wanted to join a group to sort of get an idea of the ins and outs

I did get a BFP but unfortunately had an early miscarriage 😔 so roll onto January for me!

@Porgy657 Same here really, I’m 27 & didn’t get my depo because I’d recently read up a lot more about time frames, so not expecting it to happen quick but if it does than we’ll be happy!
I’m very intrigued to know if I’ll ovulate though as I know you can have periods & not!

Sorry to hear Randy 😔 Fingers crossed for January 🤞🏻

@Ched1 yeah I think I’m going to get some ov sticks to see what’s actually happening do people have any recommendations?
we are trying (trying being the key word) to keep relaxed about it..I’m taking pre conception vitamins as way of being somewhat prepared

To be honest o just brought the cheapest ones in Tesco 🤷🏻‍♀️

If time goes on I’ll invest in some decent ones 😅

Yea same I didn’t get my injection but said I’d panic if I for pregnant straight away (odds against on that one!) But now I’m off the injection we’re nothing talking about a baby a lot more & would be over the moon & shitting it haha!

@Ched1 nice having someone in the same boat, I’ve read through so many threads and no one seemed to be coming off depo! we’re both excited at the prospect but also absolutely shitting it 😂😂

@Porgy657 Yea I must have thread 50 odd threads about it but all from about 10 years ago! Sounds on very similar positions, at least we can catch up about it!

Hi everyone,
We're hoping to start TTC #1 in the next couple of weeks. I came off the pill (progesterone only) in April and we kept delaying TTC so I could lose weight, but I've really been struggling with that and my broodiness hasn't lessened! My other half is still a bit unsure but that's just his personality.

I bought the easy@home ovulation strips months ago and have tested them but failed to get a positive so feeling a bit nervous about those. We don't DTD much so need to time it right! That seems to be the brand most people recommend though, unless you have a ridiculous salary and can afford Clearblue.

Great to have this group - good luck everyone :)

Hi all can I join your group? We’ve been ttc since October so this is my third cycle. I’m currently 8dpo (did a FRER with FMU this morning and was a BFN 😞) but I know it’s too early and not to rule myself out just yet. I’ve had a big dip and rise yesterday and today in my BBT (I’ll attach the chart) so I think that could be an implantation dip. Didn’t get it on my last cycle so hoping for a good sign 🤞 although I have read you can get a dip and still not get pregnant. Is anyone else here tracking BBT and/or in their tww?

TTC our first, I have been using the 'Clue' app to track and the first week in Jan appear to be my most fertile days! (5th - 8th) Scared but excited!

So nice a few more people have joined, I’ve read loads of threads but not been part of one yet! Especially as most of us seem to be trying for the first time!

Wow @Dex1521 that looks in depth 😅 I came off the deli last month & other threads/NHS say periods/ovulating can take 10 months plus! So I was quite excited when I had AF last week (I think anyway!)

It’s so easy to get carried away though, I came off the injection because I thought it would be over a year before I got pregnant, one month off & I’d be really happy if I was!

I am conscious that overthinking it & stressing doesn’t help though. So many stories of people giving up or due for IVF then finding out they’re pregnant!?

Anyway wishing everyone the best & fingers crossed! Can’t wait to come back on this thread & hear one of you got a BFP! ❤️

It’s so exciting isn’t it and lovely we have something so nice to look forward to while everything else seems to be going to pot haha.
My fiancé wanted to get married first but I wanted to have a baby first so we’ve compromised and are doing both haha. We are just having a small wedding in the spring so we are hoping to be celebrating two things by then WinkSmile!

Agreed @Ched1... can’t wait to see some positives. I read another post and it was amazing seeing how many people were pregnant by the end!

@Peadsnurse101 How weird (maybe not that weird haha) but I wanted to be married before kids but decided I’m not that bothered.

We’ve also decided we may have a small wedding in the summer 🤞🏻

Sorry @Ched1 clearly Christmas got the better of me there! How funny, love that I’m not the only one mad enough to be going for both baby and wedding in a pandemic haha.

Hope everyone had a lovely Xmas, how’s everyone getting on?

CHED1 · 02/01/2021 22:47

@Peadsnurse101If there’s still a lot of restrictions on numbers we won’t get married, fingers crossed for a better year though!

I was (kind of) tracking on a couple of apps for ovulation window but didn’t test so not sure if it happened or not 🤷🏻‍♀️ I do feel like after being on the depo for so long it’s highly unlikely.

But we’ve been DTD fairly often 😅 I did have 2/3 days of spotting last week & a blocked nose (which I’ve read can be a sign?) but I’m not kidding myself or upset that it’s probably irregularity because of depo & have a cold haha!

How’s everyone else doing? Happy New Year! 😁
