Hi guys

Sorry if this is a ridiculous or obvious question. But do you guys DTD throughout the 2WW as well? Info online is so contradictory, some stuff says BD every other day throughout cycle and other stuff says sex and orgasm can affect implantation etc. Just wondering what you all do?

@Luckyelephant1 we tend not to DTD during TWW, I think we both just fancy a break 😂. If we do, it would only likely be once. I also worry that it may affect implantation, I'm sure it doesn't but don't want to take any risks!

Hey, this cycle (4th ttc) we decided not to DTD during the TWW and funnily enough I fell pregnant 🙈 obviously there’s no way of knowing if that was a reason why but worth a try!

Hi @Luckyelephant1

The confusion stems from different approaches to getting pregnant.

Methods that suggest having sex frequently every 2-3 days throughout the month as recommended By the nhs are based on the frequency of sex leading to pregnancy happening eventually by guaranteeing there is always sperm waiting for the egg when it releases so you increase your chances that way.

Methods that involve testing Are about locating ovulation and increasing your chances that way, but there is always a chance you will miss ovulation.

I guess that’s for those of us who like to try and play the odds and increase chances any way we can 😆😂

There is evidence that suggestions that intercourse during The TWW Can affect implantation. That doesn’t mean that it always does, but not DTD would seem to increase your chances. Who knew, jez you need to be a fertility scientist to figure this stuff out.

Like @ButterscotchBabe I just like to have a rest anyway! 😆

@Bouncytree thanks you basically summarised everything I've read recently!

I'm cycle 5 at the moment and every cycle before this I we have given ourselves a break during TWW, so this time we have decided to change tactic and DTD every couple of days until AF (OR a BFP... whichever happens first!)

I'm exhausted though and not really enjoying it so probably won't do it next cycle especially now that I am using OPKs so I know when I ovulate. Thanks guys x

We don't tend to DTD during TWW either😂 i thought i was the only one that thought it could affect chances of implantation too! It probably won't but like you other ladies we also like the break from it

@Luckyelephant1 I bet your exhausted! Imagine having to do it every 2-3 days for months on end...I’m not able 😅
