Hi all,

So I thought I'd make a thread for those of us that are new to the world of TTC! 🍼

I have been TTC for two months so far. Sadly I had a chemical pregnancy last month and so that was really hard to deal with and process. Although I was super early on, it still hurt so much and it really dawned on me just how hard and heartbreaking TTC'ing can be! 💔😔

I'm now much more positive, and looking forward to this new, fresh month of trying to conceive our first! 👼

Anybody else trying to conceive their first / new to this journey?

It would be lovely to hear from you - and hopefully keep updated with each other's journeys! 💓

Baby dust to everybody 🌈 ✨

Hi!

Thanks for starting the thread Smile

Just waiting on AF arriving Friday and once finished that's our official TTC #1 starting! I'm honestly so nervous. As soon as we made the decision to try, I've realised just how much I want it! Scared of how I'll handle the 2WW and any disappointment tbh.

But also excited to get started! feels the beginning of a big journey doesn't it!

Sorry to hear that, sending you hugs, im sure that was difficult, especially at the beginning of yous TTC.

Are you tracking anything like BBT? Ive started using it the past week, to get a handle on it.. it's quite up and down, but I'm sure after a cycle or 2 I'll get it figured out hopefully!

Hey lovely!

We've just gone past month 3 of TTC baby #1 👶🏼

This time last week I had just found out I was about 4 weeks & 3 days pregnant but sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy, so I'm really understanding on how you felt. It's process of grieving no matter how early or late down the line it was, so I hope you're doing okay aswell. Monday night I think I cried myself to sleep, wrote abit of a 'diary' on the week I'd experienced along with my feelings and since Tuesday morning I've felt a lot more positive and slept a whole lot better!

I've read lots on here that people go onto having a healthy pregnancy the following few months. My midwife friend said you're most fertile the following 3 months after a CP, so once this AF is over with we will be straight back to those ovulation sticks and DTD 🙊

Good luck to you and always up for a chat ❤️

@HopefulMama2Be hey lovely!

Ohh exciting times, it feels like a big dream doesn't it, starting such an amazing journey!

Thank you for your kind words - it was hard to deal with and so gutting, but I'm feeling much better now. Everything happens for a reason, so they say! I'm trying to remain positive and optimistic so got my fingers crossed that our little bundle of joy will happen soon ✨😇

I'm not tracking BBT, but that does sound interesting and I know lots of people do track that way... I have been using cheapie OPK's (ovulation strips) which are great, you can line them up day by day and physically see the darkening of the line when you near peak ovulation, so I found that reassuring..

To ensure I got the peak date right, when I began to see the OPK's darken more and more, I also used clear blue ovulation tests which show a digital smiley face, when you have reached your peak. That was really reassuring 💓💓

Got my fingers crossed for us! Xx

@TTCbabyx hey! 💓

I'm so sorry to hear that you've been through the same. It really is heart breaking, no matter what stage you're at! You see the positive on the pregnancy test, and begin to imagine like and how it'll change.. and then you bleed and it feels like everything's come crashing down over you in one foul swoop. 😔💔
My heart goes out to everybody that's had to experience such heartache x

It's good to hear that you are most fertile the coming months after a chemical pregnancy, it brings a bit of hope to an otherwise awful situation. Got my fingers crossed for us all! ✨💕

I am currently cycle day 6, after my chemical pregnancy / period bleed - so hoping to begin testing with OPK's soon and go from there again 💓

@confusedcoco

I keep thinking everything happens for a reason, so I'm just guessing that time it wasn't meant to be. Our time will come 💝

I just read and saw you're using the IC opk, I use the app Premom and it allows you to take photos of the strips and it gives you an idea on your peak which is really helpful as it shows each cycle so you can compare! It's been really handy for us!

I'm CD 3, so it sounds like our next TWW will be around time same time! One thing I've promised myself is I'm going to try my best and not being a POAS addict and shall be waiting until AF is late (if we become that lucky of course) xx

@TTCbabyx

Ohh great minds think alike!! I'm also using that app, I find it really helpful seeing them all lined up and noticing your peak ovulation ✨

Yes, looks like our TWW will be similar! How exciting!! I'm hoping to also avoid POAS as I'm terrible for it, last month I was testing from 9DPO which I suppose is okay as you can get a positive from then, but still I was becoming was a bit obsessive over it 😂🤦‍♀️

I'm also going to wait until AF is due, hoping that we get our BFP's soon! Xx

I'm sure it was, it must have been so painful. You've got such a lovely positive attitude, which is exactly what you need at a time like this! Thanks

Ohh that's a good tip about the cheapie OPKs, I might order some from Amazon this week. I've ordered the CB one, need to figure out how to use it. But won't need it till after AF, honestly never wanted AF to come so much in my life (and this will be the last time I do want it to come!!), I just want to get started!

I'm using Clue and Femometer apps, and they've stated my ovulation date as as 28th Oct, seems so far away! But interested to see if the OPKs will show any different. A few people have said not just to rely on apps as they can be a few days out which is good to know.

I'm also trying to be more aware of how I feel during this cycle. I've never tracked anything like CM.. honestly really sure where to start with that one, might focus on BBT and OPKs this month and look more into this as trying progresses.

Fingers crossed 2021 holds lots of baby cuddles and stinky nappies for us!!

@HopefulMama2Be thank you, positivity is the way to go! I was absolutely devastated.. but have to move on and keep going!! 💓

Yes cheapie OPK's are great, I get the ovaview ones from amazon, they are £15 I believe for 60 which is fab. When I start to see the line getting darker, I will test day and night to make sure I see the peak!

I've never tracked with BBT but have tried to keep a closer eye on CM. I don't check my cervix as such but will have a little look on tissue paper after wiping Blush and I did see EWCM last cycle, although it was 5 days before ovulation actually happened which was strange!! We DTD regardless every day until 2 days after ovulation, to try to catch the egg. It obviously worked, but sadly didn't work out the way we had hoped. 👼

I was and still plan to use preseed!! It's a fertility friendly lubricant that aids sperm to the egg. It mimics fertile cervical mucus.. That may have been what helped us to conceive the very first cycle that we tried! It has lots of good reviews so planning on continuing with using it this month too 🤞🏼

Just make sure you give yourself time to grieve and process, with lots of self care!!

I've been trying to keep an eye on my CM this past week as next month I'll be nearing the end of the TWW, so I'd like to know what's normal for me. I know I'll be symptom spotting flat out! Did you notice any symptoms?

Oh what brand of pre seed do you use? I've heard of it but never looked into it. Honestly happy to try anything!

My partner isn't going to know what's hit him as I'm on a mission this month haha Grin

@HopefulMama2Be
I actually did notice symptoms quite early on!

  • hard, sensitive and enlarged nipples / areola's
  • dark blue veins.. very prominent running to the nipple
  • terrible gag reflex and easily put off foods I normally love
  • always felt nauseous
  • shooting pains in lower abdomen

💓

Yes I just used the first response pre-seed from amazon, the reviews are fab and it was easy to use! If you do get it, you will soon realise you really don't need to use much of it as a little goes a very long way 😂🤦‍♀️

Lol my OH was the same way, didn't know what had hit him once I was in the fertile window 😂😂xx

Hi confusedcoco,

How are you today?

I'm def going to get that preseed! Thanks for the tip Smile

AF due tomorrow so I'm feeling absolutely shattered, skin looks crap, want to eat every single thing in the house and just generally feel a bit rubbish! But the quicker it comes, the quicker we're officially TTC!

Feel so impatient for ovulation! What date are you thinking you'll be this month, is it soon?

It's great there's somewhere like this isn't there, where there's so many people in the same boat who understand. It'll be so handy when trying to keep sane during the TWW! X

Hi ladies hope you don't mind an extra one joining in! 😊 We are now in cycle 4 of TTC after I had endometriosis surgery and my mirena coil removed in June. So far it's been a roller-coaster! Was certain that I was pregnant on the 2nd cycle, had all the symptoms then a bizarre super light period CD28 which I thought was IB... Anyway it wasn't! So we had a chat and decided to really go for it this month, OVd yesterday so DTD and keeping fingers crossed! Baby dust to all xx

Oh Kirby, fingers crossed this month is your month!! Sending you all the baby dust!

Have any of yous changed anything diet wise? I'd prob be considered overweight due to my BMI tbh, and a bit nervous incase that affects my chances. I know BMI is a bit ridiculous at times, I remember years and years ago, back when I was a skinny size 8-10 (many moons ago haha) and going to a health fair at Uni, and this guy doing my BMI and just point blank looking me in the eye and going "you're classified obsessed"... I was mortified!! But yeah, i know I could def be healthier food wise, and working from home atm so not moving as much as I should! But going to really try and eat a bit healthier, and I'm going to try and cut down on wine (try being the main word here) haha. Just sort of wishing I'd thought about it before we decided trying to I knew I was going into it at my healthiest!

Happy Friday ladies!x

Heyy @HopefulMama2Be I find MN so helpful to get things off my chest and speak to people who understand!

Diet wise - as soon as we started TTC I stopped drinking alcohol... I have the odd one or two during my period now but nowhere near as much as I used to. As I'm a runner anyway I try and get out for exercise either a walk or run every day. Other than that just try and eat more fruit and veg. I consulted my GP and he said what I was doing was fine, and the surgery showed no reason we can't conceive so, waiting game now!
