Hi

Hoping someone can advise

I had a condom completely burst with my partner on Sunday just gone.. according to my app I was ovulating on that day however my cycles aren’t Always regular.

I took the MAP the 72 hour one .. at around the 69 hour mark I know I left it late but I couldn’t get to a pharmacy until then due to working. I am aware that it doesn’t work if you’ve already ovulated and the longer you wait etc..

The day before I took it I felt like I was going to come on my period I had cramping and my breasts felt and still do feel quite heavy and sore ( I always get breast pain 5-7 days before AF) it would be very early for me to come on my cycles are usually long but I’ve had the odd short one here and there.

I’ve been pregnant before (termination) and remember getting cramping and thinking it was my period.

Me and my partner have just got back together and are trying to work on our Rship it wouldn’t be the best time for a baby.

The cramping etc started before I took the pill btw not after.

This would have been 3 days after the sex.. surely
I wouldn’t be feeling any symptoms relating to conception by then ?

Contact your GP, and or local sexual health clinic.

Explain your situation, the coil may be suitable for you. It is the only form of contraception that is 100% effective and can work up to 5 days after intercourse. The GP / nurse at the sexual health clinic will be able to tell you if its suitable for you, you do need to be seen today

@Sear86 but I have already taken the pill? Can I still get the coil? Also my sexual health clinic isn’t doing any face to face appointments and my doctors surgery released appointments at 8am
So there’s no way I’d get one now

Right...try not to panic and worry too much as this will cause your period to be late. When you say you're not always regular on the app...how irregular are you? as in a few days either side?
If you've been tracking your period regularly and you are pretty sure you would be ovulating, then the cramping feel could be ovulating/egg release pain.
Please try not to stress too much and take a test the day your period is due.

You wouldn't be feeling any pregnancy symptoms 3 days after sex. The app that states you ovulated that day is probably not accurate anyway, you took the pill so I'd say you are safe enough.

@peachescariad my cycles are usually between 32 days - 42 days long I’ve been tracking them
For a few years.. my last cycle was 39 days.

The sex happened on cycle day 20

I really don't think you have anything to worry about (although you probably will carry on!).

A period follows approx. 14 days after ovulation. This means you were at your most fertile around day 25.
I'd say you were safe Flowers

Thought I’d update this thread.. today I have done a FRER test and I don’t know if these are indent lines or early positives as it’s very very early 8 days since the sex..

How are you feeling about it OP?

@022828MAN I have posted another thread with the test pics and most ppl are saying they can see the lines but looks like an indent..

I dont know what to think yet as it is super super early to test.. I’m not mentioning this to my partner till I know for sure although I really want to tell him

Totally understand and think it probably is best to wait until you know for sure, as you say. Are you only using condoms as contraception? Might be worth thinking about other options now if you're not pregnant.

@022828MAN does it look like an indent to you or a early positive ?.. only condoms but yes will need to consider something

I really couldn't say, sorry Rose! I don't know enough about tests (other than the 2 positives I've had) to recognise what's a faint positive, indent, stain etc!

Do you have pictures of the test inside the plastic?

Report
Roselilly300 · 05/10/2020 21:40

@xoJellyBean I don’t but you couldn’t see the line until the test was opened.

The incident happened earlier hours of Monday morning last week. So I’m assuming it was way too early to test anyways.. still don’t know either way

Which brand are you using? & when is af due x

Report
Roselilly300 · 05/10/2020 22:07

@xoJellyBean it’s a first response early response..
My cycles aren’t always regular and as I took the pill I don’t really know when it’s due but I’ve heard a FRER can show up as early as 10 days after conception ? .

It’s the only time I’ve had sex in this cycle so I know if I was to be pregnant it’s from that incident x

If you couldn't see the line when in the plastic it's a negative result.
