Same here.

I had a missed miscarriage back in 2017 and was in hospital for a week and it shook me up as I'd conceived babies 1 and 2 easily and I had no idea 3 hadn't progressed. So I bought the book "it starts with an egg" and used the supplements she suggested in that and I'm using taken again. I was 32 with no.1 (she's 7 now), 32 with no.2 and 37 with no. 3 and I'd be 40 if it happens this time. If I do get pregnant I'll be straight into the baby aspirin.

Been monitoring fertility off and on since January but didn't try until last month as quite new in job.

Was getting peaks no problem before I started trying then error on monitor last month and no peak on monitor this month just highs. Been using this monitor for 8 years now so maybe it's old and malfunctioning or it's me! I used other strips too which have shown a peak so maybe my surge just isn't strong enough for monitor.

Dunno but kind of wished I'd started trying earlier and too he'll with job.

I have kids with severe disabilities in my family and it's incredibly tough. I'm very aware of my age.

I'm overthinking this I know but I'm a real planner and just putting everything on the credit card at this month.

What about you?

I'll join you. I'm 41 and have had 4 CP and 1 MMC in the past 16 months. The other over 40 thread is so long it's intimidating!!

4dpo today. Not holding out much hope though

Hi @Meme69 😊. Sorry to hear about your loses. I have had 1 mc and 1 cp plus 2 terminations due to severe medical condition.
My AF has just started but I knew it would as had zero symptoms.
I did get faint positives on 2 diff preg tests but they were so faint but not taking them as chemicals.

Hi I'd like to join please! I have one DS13 and am 40 and TTC no. 2 with my partner of 9 years. Had a chemical in August and a BFN last cycle with a LOT of slightly psycho testing and 3 random v.faint positives one evening, which were negative again an hour later. Don't know what was going on with that! Trying OPK strips for first time this cycle but not taking any particular supplements though will have a look at them if I don't get pregnant this cycle. Like you, I'm keenly aware of my age... Conceived DS1 without any issue at all. Wasn't planned but wasn't avoided either, had no idea when I was ovulating or anything. Somehow thought I'd conceive easily again but guess age really does make a difference... Would love to keep this group going and have some ladies of a similar age to chat to.

Hi all

So spent a fortune on supplements this month and testing kits and went down to one coffee a day and ate salad etc and the dtd and negative test this morning.

Oh well. I dunno. I remember getting a "peak" on my fertility monitor I've used for years in June but husband was away and I thought - there's always next month but I haven't had a "peak" on the monitor since then.

I got a peak on the CB digital sticks and the easy@home ones. Perhaps peak wasn't strong enough to be picked up on the CB monitor.

This month - no coffee at all and may try soy days 3 to 7. Also think we started to dtd to early last month so husband was knackered by time peak came and didn't dtd day after peak.

Again- I dunno.

How is everyone else?

hi could I join please.

I found out i was pregnant completely unplanned a month after my 40th, we had just got our heads round having another child i have an 11 and 8 year old from a previous relationship.

We booked in for the harmony test when I was 12 weeks pregnant to be told it was measuring at 11+5 but no heartbeat, I was booked in for an erpc which i had two weeks ago. This was not successful and ended up going back in again this week for the same procedure again.

This has now made me realise that i would love to try again and have a child with my partner. I never thought i wanted anymore until I had the chance to feel pregnant again, now I'm worried that I wont be able to fall again.

I have to look at the positives that we did fall without trying so surely it can happen again.

I'm sure we can all do this, i keep getting told its positive thoughts about the body being able to.

Good luck ladies.

So sorry Kim80. I hope you're okay. I had a mmc in 2017 and to be honest didn't I even know they existed until I went for my scan. I didn't realise I was getting a scan that day so husband wasn't with me. I didn't really understand when they told me. I also ended up in hospital for a week with blood loss as it wasn't handled very well.

Made me very sensitive about talking about pregnancy and how much I wanted another baby in case it didn't happen again. It did and I had a beautiful baby girls. I took aspirin and lots of supplements no idea if that helped or not.

Fast forward 3.5 years later and I want another. Friends are getting pregnant too at moment which has heightened things.

Good luck and I hope you're doing ok

3 years later o want

40 does appear to be the new 30! Since being on here and reading recommended books about fertility I've realised that 40 isn't Armageddon for fertility like newspaper headlines sometimes say. So many babies born to those 40 and over.

There does seem to be quite alot of scaremongering on the Internet for women who are considering trying in their 40s. The bereavement midwife was amazing and she said she has dealt with plenty of older ladies who have had children naturally well in to their 40s so I am holding hope for all of us on this page.

I just can't wait to start ttc again its been a long month with to erpcs and awaiting results from the tissues tests. Hmm

You've had a really tough time. I hope you're managing to take it easy and it's a cliche but - be kind to yourself. I didn't realise the impact the mmc would have in my hormones and me in general but I conceived 2 months later. I bought that book "it starts with the egg" as she talks about miscarriage in that. I had been drinking lots of Diet Coke and coffee before my mmc and I convinced myself that was the cause. No idea if it was.

Bought all the supplements she mentioned in the book and stopped coke and coffee.

I've followed this again this time and only been trying for 2 months but negative to date. Fingers crossed.

Hi

You're basically taking what I'm taking. Think Luissa Zissman recommends the same sort

Ubiquinol (I think this is for egg preservation)
DHA
Super lipoid acid
Pregnacare multi-vitamin
Folic acid
Omega - but I think this is just DHA

Been taking them for a couple of months (folic acid much longer) but negative tests.

Got baby aspirin I'm in case I got pregnant

Got soy supplements for this cycle which only take for a few days ie 3-7.

Got CB monitor, CB digital sticks and easy@home. Monitor didn't pick up peak but sticks did.

Been stressed at work but not about this.

But as I said negative tests this month so who knows.

Going to try to eat better this month and perhaps try vitamins for husband.

Thanks so much for your help i will go and grab some of the other supplements that I dont have. I have also continued from day dot with the folic acid.

I'm sure the stress at work is not the problem and I am sure it will happen for you soon.

Ooo vitamins for the men might have to look into that especially with all we have to do and go through.

Its so hard the eating healthy 😫 i love a treat at the weekends.

I did buy some cheap ot tests but not sure how they are going to work if honest.

Morning all. I’m struggling to conceive. Waiting for af to start then want to start a new cycle taking extra care. Can anyone recommend any vitamins for trying to get that bfp. I currently take boots trying for a baby that’s all I’m doing differently. I’ve heard people taking a supplement Luisa Zuisman recommends anyone take these? What would you recommend. I am 41 in jan. xx

Hi @Jaysdream7,
I have asked this and was told that in the books it suggests
Vitamin d
Folic acid
Coq10
I am also taking the vital dha which I believe is the one made by luisa.

I have been told that along with these and healthy eating and cutting out the Caffeine, alcohol should help.

I have only recently had a mmc and am currently waiting for my af but have started taking all the above.

Hope this helps.

Can I join?

I am 41 & have one DC already. She was completely unplanned as was told I couldn't conceive, so I had IVF with my EX-H and this didn't work & the strains led to us splitting. I then became at peace with the fact I couldn't have children, met my now DH and 9 months after meeting him I am pregnant! I put this down to being completely happy with my new DH.

So we would love another however we haven't had nay luck over the last 3 or so years so I have bought some one step fertility sticks to try this month.

I hope I am not too old but I also believe that after last time anything is possible!
