Chemical pregnancy? Reassurance or honest opinions...

Hello! I'm exactly 5 weeks today with DC2, got my BFP last Thursday and I'm ashamed to admit I'm one of those women who is obsessed with POAS when pregnant 🤦.

I've been testing every day since with IC and the line is still an absolute squinter, I almost feel like if anything, it's getting lighter and I seem to remember it being darker when I was having DD. I have to take a urine sample to the GP today to get it confirmed and I'm worried they won't even be able to pick it up on the test!

I'm just really worried this one isn't going to stick. I've only been pregnant once before and that was the result of DD so I've never had any experience of CP or miscarriage but I'm so worried.

Has anyone else had experience of lines being faint and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? or should I prepare for the worst?

Photos attached.. first 3 days for comparison (lines was getting darker here) and the last photo is this morning.

xx

From what I've heard from others, it may be best to get a First Response test as these internet cheapies aren't the best and may stay faint for a while even though you are definitely pregnant!

It's a minefield imo 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

I think them lines are getting darker, its just really hard to see the progression on the cheapies. I also think that would be a blaringly obvious positive on a FRER test and your GPS test will likely pick it up so I wouldn't worry :) good luck. And maybe stop testing! I know it's hard I'm 4+1 and thought I was possibly having a chemical. I'm only testing every few days now because the stress is too much

Hormones only double every 48 hours.
Stop testing...

Unless you are bleeding, don't worry yet. I had a chemical pregnancy, and I bled a lot.

thanks ladies, I've only got 2 IC left and then no more POAS for me!
I was exactly the same with DD, worried constantly until she was safe in my arms. I hate being pregnant, I think it's just the fact it's completely out of your control and you have no idea what's going on in your own body 😩 x

If I'm being honest they are getting lighter which isn't a good sign. You'd be better off doing a clearblue digital with weeks as you should be on 2-3 weeks by now

That being said my line with those IC never got as dark as the control line and I'm having twins and I've also read that once hcg levels get really high it can throw the test off and mines start getting lighter

@ivfbeenbusy thanks for your honesty 💗 I don't want to buy any more tests now as I'm just getting obsessed and already spent a fortune, took my sample into the GP this morning and waiting to hear back from the midwives now so what will be will be, fingers crossed it all turns out ok x

Update.. this is the same test from this morning after being left for a few hours. Looks more like the other 3 now, don't know if I'm just being paranoid 😩 x

@meganm94 never be ashamed to admit you're a POAS addict, so many of us are. I know some can be a little judgemental about it, but each journey is different and if it does your head in not POAS, then pee away! I hope all works out positively for you, the last test I would disregard TBH, as it was so long after the timeframe had passed. Keeping everything crossed for you... right now you're PG and unless you start the bleed, try not to worry yourself too much. Easier said than done though, I know.

These are mine every 48 hours after getting my digital. They took ages to darker x

Tested again this morning and got another faint line but also started bleeding a little bit, so it's not looking good at all ☹️ it's not bright red, more browny/pink, could it be implantation bleeding this late on? I'm 5+1 today, either way what will be will be, but I am disappointed x

Have you had any cramping? That was when I knew I was having a chemical. I'm pretty sure some bleeding/spotting is normal in pregnancy but with cramps it can indicate something is not right. Hope you're OK x

@ArcticSky it's definitely a chemical, having really bad cramps and heavy bleeding now and waiting to hear from the early pregnancy unit ☹️ gutted but obviously just wasn't meant to be this time x

I'm so sorry they are awful. Hot water bottle and a good lie down helped me (& lots of chocolate!) Lots of love x
