Hello!
My DH and I are hoping to TTC in about 8/9months. I was wondering are there any particular vitamins etc or lifestyle changes that we can make that other people have had success stories with? We are both 32 and healthy. We don't drink or smoke.
Many thanks and for all those waiting for a BFP I wish you all the baby dust in the world 💜

Hi @Flowerymama! Sorry I don’t have any advice for you but joining this thread as I would love to see the reply’s. We’re getting married April next year and planning TTC straight after. I have one month of my pill left so going to stop after this and let my body regulate. Will be nice speaking to someone who will be trying around the same time x

@purpleflowers21 Awh that will be so lovely! I already have one little boy but it took around 7 months to conceive. Tbh I was sure i wouldn't obsess over it and I ended up doing it for sure 🙈 we had a chemical in May of this year and it was very hard even though very early on but I never even knew something like that existed.
Hopefully we will get some help!! 😁😁

Hi both!

I would highly recommend reading the book "it starts with the egg, second edition". It's a great read to help you prep for conception so it never to early to start reading.

Currently in our first cycle of TTC and have been prepping my body for the past 3 months and this book has been like my bible.

I also have the book "getting pregnant faster" which was recommend to be my by my reflexologist who specialises in fertility.

Hope this helps. Happy readying and fingers crossed for lots of BFP xx

"It starts with the egg" is a great book. Really helps you understand why egg quality is so important.

I agree with the book recommended above. I'm only a few pages in, but very helpful advice. I got mine from ebay, but make sure its the newer, 2nd edition.

I'd start taking folic acid now, if not already. Are you both within healthy BMI's? Do you currently log your cycle? I use an app called ovia, but there there is glo or flo and many others. Its handy to know what your cycles are like in terms of cycle length, your 'normal' PMS symptoms, AF etc.

Where do you live OP? When I lived in Australia, GP would often check rubella status, give general TTC advice, general MOT and give partners a whooping cough vaccine. Years later, when we'd move to London, I assumed it was the norm to see my GP before TTC. Dr here implied that its not common in the UK to see your Dr before TTC and offered little to no advice, other than take folic acid! No testing/checks were done, and he said that DH wouldnt be given a whooping cough vaccine in the UK. Maybe other GPs are more helpful, but it felt like I'd wasted his time!

Thanks so much for all the advice. I will have to get those books and really look into it all 😊 we are both working towards healthy BMI so hopefully we will be ok by next year 👌 it's all very overwhelming and exciting all at the same time! Hope you all get your BFP very soon!! Xx

Oh, I forgot. I have a re-usable saliva OPK which is great. Mine was bought in Australia and called 'Maybe baby', but you can buy other brands online. They are like a tiny microscope and you track the fern shape the dried saliva makes. I tried urine OPK's, many brands and expense over the years, but never got a positive on them, whereas the saliva one I do.

It is great that you are coming off your pill early. I only got my implant removed as soon as we wanted to start TTC which was silly- my cycles are all over the place and apparently it can take up to a year for your cycles to regulate. I'm getting to inpatient! It will also help to get to know your cycles and when in your cycle you usually ovulate.
