Conception

Anyone ever just 'feel' pregnant?

I've been a regular on MN for about 10 years through many name changes, but this is my first time on conception, so forgive me if I get some of the acronyms wrong (is there a dictionary or something for them??)

Anyway. We are TTC, got thr folic acid, ovulation strips, tracking app, the whole kit and kaboodle. Last month I got my period and was pretty gutted.

This month...I don't know...i just feel different. I can smell EVERYTHING, I'm getting cramps which i don't usually get at this time, was sick this evening after terrible nausea when DH was dishing up the food. I feel kind of.....full? I dont know how else to describe it!

Perhaps it's just wishful thinking. PG test negative today but would only be 4 days since fertilisation at most

Anyone else had this??

Yes. Twice, with DC2 & DC3. I just knew. Best of luck!

Report
Notname · 10/08/2020 22:41

I knew I was pregnant with DC2 the morning after I conceived. I recognised the symptoms from
having been pregnant with DC1. From that first morning I had extra sensitive sense of smell (particularly re our kitchen radiator!), slightly sore breasts and faint nausea (which got much worse for the following 24 weeks!). I thought perhaps I was imagining it as didn’t think symptoms would start so quickly, but they were undeniable, and I tested positive a couple of weeks or so later.

Yes - with both mine. I knew before I pee'd on the stick. My number 1 symptom.....being really really pissed off with every man and his dog, god I was a grouchy mare! 🤣

I knew I was pregnant for the second time about 10 days before I tested, but I’m nit sure I would have recognised the feeling if it was my first pregnancy.

Report
Confusedcorona · 10/08/2020 22:45

Yes I did with my second.
I was utterly and unexplainably exhausted. There was no reason why, so about 5 days before my period was due, I just had this feeling, tested and I was pregnant.

I’m child free but my mum said she absolutely knew with all three of us, within days of conception (she wasn’t trying, we were all accidents apparently, so it wasn’t wishful thinking on her part!).

Yes. With my first I felt different before period was due. No PMT and just not the same. Second time exactly the same so even when first test was negative I wasn’t convinced (and test was wrong as one later same day was positive)

DramaAlpaca · 10/08/2020 22:49

@Notname I also knew the morning after with DC2. Nobody ever believes me though Grin

Report
VirginiaWolverine · 10/08/2020 22:51

Yes. With DC1, I felt different straight away, but didn't realise that what I was feeling was being pregnant. I was briefly pregnant a second time and again knew straight away, but was on holiday with friends so didn't take a test and had a very early miscarriage before I got round to testing. I have absolutely no doubt that I'd been pregnant, though. The third time it was a few days before my period was due when I realised I felt pregnant, so I went out and bought an early test and it was positive.

Notname · 10/08/2020 23:01

@DramaAlpaca 😄 I posted on Mumsnet the day it happened to see if it could possibly be symptoms so early and everyone said no. But I really wasn’t imagining it, and not wishing it either (although I was happy to be pregnant!).

Thanks all! Now it's just two weeks of waiting to be able to test Confused

@Notname MN wasn't invented when I had DC2, but I told my friend when I saw her the following day. She was astonished when I confirmed later that I definitely was pregnant Grin

Best of luck @ChickenFriedFudge Shamrock

YES! So I'm 9dpo - I could write this myself!!

Since Friday I've been feeling pregnant, my boobs was achey Saturday, Sunday, Monday. really achey yesterday but today they don't feel achey unless I jump around or run up the stairs!

I'm sure I saw a shadow of a line at 8DPO too but I'm really trying to hold out till tomorrow!!!

Today my boobs aren't as sore though?! SO CONFUSED!

I just knew with ds1. Absolutely. I was totally convinced and tested waaay too early so got a few bfns. Didn't bother me at all as I knew I would get my bfp any day and I did! Ds2 absolutely nothing. No inkling. I actually felt very premenstrual and had already told dh I thought I was out for that month on that basis. Then boom, bfp!

DS2 I knew almost from conception. Was really shocked when the test was negative but it slowly turned positive after the time was up - I'd just tested to early.

i "felt pregnant" countless times... but never a bfp.

When i got positives both times were those months were i had no symptoms or feeling of being pregnant 😌

If you want to be pregnant, or you think you might be, your mind plays tricks on you.

I’ve had a lot of disappointment this way. I’d assume you’re not unless you get a positive.

Yes I knew. We tried for 18 months and many times I "knew" but I was just kidding myself really. When I was pregnant sometimes changed and I had the weirdest sore stomach. I remember finishing work on the Friday and I just knew I was pregnant. Tested on the Sunday and got a bfp. I'm just hoping this time is the same!

Your mind really does play tricks on you when ttc. I remember being absolutely sure I was pregnant with dc3 but wasn't, it's so upsetting when you're wrong.
The only really clear sign I ever had before a bfp was taking my bra off and my nipples being extremely sore (which isn't a premenstrual symptom for me). Sure enough I tested positive a couple days later.

Report
Hannah9176 · 11/08/2020 20:01

I just knew with both pregnancies and got a positive about 5-6 days before my period was due. Was expected with my first as we were TTC but we absolutely weren't trying with no.2 and I just woke up one day and knew I was pregnant, again about 5 days before period due.

Yes. I did a pg test about 5 days after I'd started what manifested like a period. Turned out it wasn't a period (even though bleeding wasn't particularly light and lasted several days) but I only did the test because I didn't feel normal, I knew something was up (sore boobs, loss of appetite, just generally feeling somehow different).

Report
stellarfox · 11/08/2020 22:04

I had no symptoms to be honest! I feel like I could be pregnant this time as I’m tired and felt sick the last 2 evenings but it could be something else like COVID 😬
