Hi,

I'm TTC following an unexpected pregnancy which lead to a miscarriage at 7 weeks.

This is my second cycle, I've been tracking ovulation with internet cheapies and the purple digital clear blue tests.

Thing is, I seem to get one day of flashy smile and then the next day I'm at the peak and the month before nothing flashed, just solid peak smile.

Internet cheapies seem to back this up, I don't get faint lines, only obvious negatives and then a solid positive.

Is this normal? Does anyone else have this? I'm trying to work out the best time to DTD

We also have fertility issues as DH has low sperm motility and count, but we've conceived naturally once so hopefully this can happen again as we've had two rounds of ivf and I can't go through that again

I've had huge variation with the CB sticks. First month using I had 9 flashing before peak, cycle 4 I had only 2 days and this cycle I haven't had any yet and expect I will ovulate in the next day or two. I have a regular 28 day cycle so no obvious reason for the change. Other than maybe my body settling after being on the pill for years.

Do you track ewcm? The days you see that are your most fertile days as it helps the sperm to get in all the right places and keeps it alive.

I always seem to get not fertile to peak smiley, with nothing in between. I think in going to go back to IC's

I swore by clearblue OPK when TTC and would happily become an ambassador! I couldn't be doing with the cheapy strips as I was reading too much into it - the analysing of the lines drove me bad.

OP, how old are you? Timing between "high" and "peak" gets much shorter the older you get. Also use your FMU as hormones are the strongest. Different times of day could give you a different result (ie you could get a flashy smile instead of a peak smile).

I'm 27, soon to be 28. I have a regular 28 day cycle, when having ivf al tests came back normal and they advised me to use the pink clear blue opk that shoes the solid smiley for when they implanted our embryo so I know 100% I ovulate

It's just so strange how I can have flashes for a day then a peak, I'm worried my fertile window is so short and I don't know if I'm dtd at the right time

We didn't want to dtd every other day due to DH sperm count/quality not being great

Hi @octobersky19 yes having short window must be very frustrating. Have you tried the “sperm meets egg” method? Sorry if I’m teaching you to suck eggs! This will help if you have a short window and therefore don’t want to solely rely on OPKs. I fell pregnant after 5 cycles of trying other things using this method (and clearblue OPKs!) let me know if you’d like to chat x
