BFP after 3 chemicals and terrified

Hi all, as the subject says really, I’ve had 3 chemicals in 7 months and found got another BFP at 9dpo this month. I’m currently seeing a consultant for the previous 3 losses and all tests to date have come back normal. I’ve been given progesterone for this BFP to see if it helps but looking at my 12-13 dpo line progression, I am terrified I am losing this one again. Can anyone offer any advice?

I would say your lines look good and that there’s less dye in the 13 DPO test as the control line is a little lighter too 😊
Congratulations and I hope the progesterone works and it sticks for you 🤞

Thank you @KeishaV I was thinking the same thing about the dye but I don’t know if I was just trying to convince myself. I’m not sure how I will cope if I suffer another.

I’ve had one as well it’s heartbreaking, so sorry for what you’ve been through ❤️ I’m getting very faint lines on IC and one other 10mlu test at the moment and I’m terrified I’m having another chemical too as nothing is showing up on the FRER for me 😞 I’m only 9DPO so keeping everything crossed!

I’m so sorry @KeishaV this whole thing is just horrendous, any joy from having a positive test has been taken away from me. I really hope this is it for both of us. Please keep me updated and I’ll do the same.

At 7 dpo I had my day 21 progesterone tests this month so still waiting for the results of that even though I obviously ovulated as now I’m pregnant.

Sending you lots of love x

@rosegoldlove I've had 3 this year too (well, one was a MMC to be exact). I feel your pain and panic. These lines look strong. Looking good so far. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this is your time. X

@Bluesky2021 thank you for the words of encouragement, it’s really needed right now. I’m sorry for your losses too, have you been to the GP for any further tests? You’re eligible with 3 losses. Xxx

Hi @KeishaV I am 15 dpo today and got a 2-3 weeks on a clearblue so I'm really hoping things are progressing. It is so terrifying still but my frer lines are now the same as the control ones. Today was the day my period was due and it already feels like a lifetime. My progesterone results came back at 33 nmol which indicates I ovulated but given that I was pregnant I was hoping it would be higher. I guess it is just a case of wait and see. How are you? What is the latest?

@RoseGoldLove that's great news! To get 2-3 weeks on a digital must mean your HCG is 153 or higher too! It all sounds really positive, keeping everything crossed for you.

I'm ok, did another FRER today (11 DPO) and think it's every so slightly darker than 9 DPO but is super faint so not feeling that hopefully as I would have thought that it needed to be darker by now.

@KeishaV there is definitely a hint of something there, keeping my fingers and toes crossed for both of us. It could be a late burrower!

I really wish we could just fast forward these next few weeks. Let me know how tomorrow goes!

Started spotting last night and the IC aren’t even showing a faint line anymore, second chemical in three months. Just want AF to arrive now.

Best of luck @RoseGoldLove, your story is giving me hope! Xx

Oh @KeishaV I’m so sorry. It really is such an awful feeling. I do really hope I can continue to give you hope. It may be worth having a chat with the GP, I’ve heard some will investigate 2 or more losses.

I’m still so terrified, still testing Every day. My frer was lighter today but the test line looks darker than the control. Confused attaching a pic.

I know it’s not good to be stressed but I really can’t help it. Not sure how much help I’ll be right now but here if you want to chat.

Xxx

They get darker when they're dry which is why the ones from yesterday look darker. Compulsive tester here too! You do really need to stop now though, that's not a chemical pregnancy. I miscarried at seven weeks and my lines were never that strong.

Thanks @iftherewereahorseyinthehouse encouragement like that really means the world to me right now. I'm heading back to my family for the weekend so will definitely put an end to the testing then (although it will be hard!)

I'm so sorry for your loss, sending you lots of love and baby dust your way!

@RoseGoldLove thank you for your kind words x Your lines are looking great!

It's really weird, normally when spotting starts it continues until AF arrives. I had brown spotting last night but creamy CM today?

Just to say your lines look great @RoseGoldLove, I had 3 chemicals last year following an mmc, it really is horrible so fingers crossed for you, best of luck x

@KeishaV do you usually spot before your period? This was a concern for me and given I mentioned the Prism trial, the consultant then prescribed me progesterone from when I get BFP which I've been taking since last Wednesday. Have a look at it, there is good info on the Tommy's site or the Miscarriage Association. I know it means nothing for a lot of people but I don't know about you but I felt better just being proactive and investigating stuff myself rather than just sitting around being down.

Thank you @bananamonkey for your kind words. Trying to conceive can definitely feel like a lonely process sometimes and it's so lovely to feel like you have a community here you can chat to and who understands! xxx

@RoseGoldLove Yes I do, for one or two days. I've just had a look at the prism trial, I'll try and arrange an appointment with my GP to have a chat about it. Thank you! Did you speak to your GP before you BFP and then again after or just when you got it?

@KeishaV I think 1-2 days is totally normally, mine was up to 5 days sometimes. So I was seeing a gynae consultant (post GP referral) for the recurring miscarriages and I mentioned it to her. She then wrote to my GP to say that when I get a BFP I should be prescribed progesterone. Weirdly, on Tuesday last week when I got my first faint BFP, I was going to the GP for a progesterone blood test and while I was there I mentioned it to the reception staff who managed to get the prescription sorted and it was in the pharmacy by the next day.

Ah ok that's good to know, I'll keep an eye on it in case it last longer or start earlier in future too.

Ahh that's really good, it was meant to be! Funny how things work out sometimes x

Hi @KeishaV just to keep the thread updated, I started spotting this afternoon. Just brown quite watery (sorry for the TMI) but was instantly terrified so I managed to get in for a private blood test (luckily I live in London so could get an appt really quick). Lines are still looking good on the pregnancy tests though, test line is way darker than control but still getting 2-3 weeks on clearblue. I feel quite numb right now. I'm hoping its the progesterone that's causing me to spot a bit but a part of me just thinks this is the way it'll always turn out for me.

I need to get the blood test repeated in 48 hours which is annoyingly Saturday and I'm heading back to my family this weekend. It's going to be a long few days.....

@RoseGoldLove I had 4 chemicals before my dd. Spotted brown with my dd early on and every time my period was due up until 12 weeks. This time ttc I had a mmc at 10/11 weeks then two cycles later bfp with this one. I actually spotted red blood in the first week with this one and definitely thought it wasn't viable but I'm nearly 24 weeks now. It's very much the case that bleeding/ spotting can be fine. I did start myself on baby aspirin for both of my viable pregnancies though. I don't know if it's that that made the difference or just coincidence.

Thanks @chubbyhotchoc I understand the aspirin is helpful for blood clotting disorders and my results have come back normal for that.

I'm so sorry for your losses but it's encouraging to hear that you have a dd and another one on the way :)

I'm hoping its the progesterone which I may try inserting in the other entrance tonight (gross!) but lets see. All we can do is hope and wait.

Wishing you all the best for the rest of your pregnancy.

@RoseGoldLove mine came back normal too for the blood clotting but dr said take it anyway. Idk it's probably just coincidence. Makes me feel better to take it anyway. Good luck! There's plenty of hope even with bleeding

@RoseGoldLove the good news is it's brown which means old blood! It could be breakthrough bleeding? Great news that you were able to get an appointment so quickly, keeping everything crossed for you. When is your next blood test appointment? Saturday or after the weekend? I would be just as scared as you are but the lines sound really positive.

I've had no more spotting since 11 DPO (13 DPO today) and got my brain trying to convince me that there's another faint line on a test today. I will know for sure by the weekend as AF should be here by then.

Top test is 12DPO (BFN) bottom one is today.
