Conception

Would it even be remotely possible...

to have a very, very faint positive (i'm talking really having to hold it up to the light and focus) at around 6 days post conception?

I know the answer is no. But I have it today. I'm thinking it could be evap (although was within time frame) or leftover hcg from a chemical (most recent AF was 14 days ago).

I'm not testing again for as long as i can possibly manage as I feel it will get ridiculous (I mean it already has 😂).

Any thoughts?!

Any similar stories or people to tell me I'm getting carried away?😁

Hello, are you sure you didn't ovulate early? 😊

Depends on the test you are using? If it's not a First Response then I absolutely wouldn't trust it

If it's a First Response then the answer is probably? The problem is that when an embryo starts to implant it releases an initial amount of hcg which is what the test might be picking up but unless the tests get darker over the next few days it's impossible this early to say whether implantation will actually complete

(I got a BFP at was effectively 8DPO from IVF but I'm pregnant with twins)

I got this at 6DPO this cycle. Also tested at 9dpo and got a BFN, I’m assuming the first one was an evap line as it was way too early to test anyway. I suppose 9dpo is still quite early so I live in hope for this cycle!

Would it even be remotely possible...

@BPT2019 to be honest I cannot say for sure! It is a possibility.

@ivfdreaming it wasn't a frer! It was a Morrisons. I know what you're saying is correct. I know it deep down 😂

@Nov19 ahh, that is a definite line and to have a bfn after that is so difficult. Really takes over your mind.

Basically last month I spent a fortune on frers to check my line was still there daily and AF still arrived. So I promised this month I'd be more sensible but I had a compulsion to test when I felt some breast tenderness 😑. I have no tests left and so I will now force myself not to buy any more and see what the next few days bring.

Also complete sidenote re: FRER. I bought some on Amazon and some from a pharmacy last month and I compared boxes and tests. I am really suspicious that the amazon ones were fake due to some super slight differences. (My lines were appearing on the pharmacy ones too though, so i had some security). But I am now slightly wary of buying them on Amazon. (I did buy them direct from FR on Amazon and not third party. Maybe i'm being overly suspicious!)

Fingers crossed for you 🤞 I am a POAS addict but I have a cupboard full of IC and no will power so I test daily! 😳
I know someone on MN who bought their FRER online and they got a line but was suspicious so dipped the second test in the box in water and that also got a line (very clear) so I'm guessing there are some bad batches going around or even some fake ones 😒

Sigh, it is really an addiction 😂. It is so tempting.

Yes I would believe that. The amazon boxes weren't printed as clearly and the white ink had printed with some blue streaks. Whereas on the pharmacy tests it was perfectly white.
And the amazon tests felt like cheaper plastic and the 'pregnant/not pregnant' guide printed on the actual test stick was flaking off in places - i saw no evidence of that on the pharmacy ones. Yes I did conduct an investigation. Yes I do need to get out more 😂 I'm blaming lockdown and ttc madness 😂

It's bad if amazon are selling cheap versions 😳
I don't even know why I bother with the ICs, I've had a clear positive line on Sunday and then two faints yesterday and then a BFN (looked like dye got stuck which was helpful) this morning so I'm ready for losing my mind lol 😂

Oh so sorry to hear that 😑. It's just horrible. When is AF due? Are you ttc #1? I'm nearing 35 and have been trying for around 9 months 🙏

Yeah it's frustrating 😒 We are trying for our third, first took ten months so I know how you're feeling and second was the first month of trying which was a shock as we where expecting another few months of TTC but it was quick.
How are you feeling with your TTC journey?

@BPT2019 how nice to hear you have 2 and your ten months gives me hope! Wishing you best of luck for your third and this cycle! How long have you been trying this time round? I hope you get your bfp soon and everything goes the way you want it to!

I'm feeling OK at the moment to be honest. Ups and downs! I have a belief it will happen so hoping I'm proved right 😂 I've had plenty days where I feel low about but thankfully OK at the moment. Have stopped talking to friends and family and going to try to channel my energy here instead 😂

@ivfdreaming that is interesting about your bfp at 8 days. How are things?

There is a vague possibility of an extra early bfp. Usually implantation happens between 6-12dpo, and for most women it is between 8-10dpo. Then it can take a couple of days for hcg levels to rise to detectable levels. However, this is all based on studies done over the years, on relatively small numbers of women, so there will always be outliers, who don't conform to the 'norm'. There was a lady on another group who got a bfp at 5dpo, which was confirmed by her obstetrician, ultrasound and blood tests, so you never know.

Re Frers, the reviews on Amazon about false positives that have pictures the test does not look like a frer - it doesn't have the big 1 and First Response at the end of the handle, and no text next to the window, so check before using.

I had quite a strong line at 10dpo so I would think a faint line at 6dpo might be possible?

@Threnody thank you for the information, interesting. I am waiting it out and thinking about it a lot concurrently! I will try again in a while but I am really wary of FRER as I have had lots of positives on them which have come to nothing (chem) so they give me some slight feelings of anxiety! Going to try and wait for AF and use regular tests if I can bear the waiting.

@Feelingpoorlysick oh that is a nice thing to hear. How are things going?
