CD20 & no EWCM or Positive OPK

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this or have had a similar experience?

I'm currently on CD20 and haven't had any EWCM (or much CM at all) or a positive OPK. This is my 2nd cycle TTC and third cycle off the pill. I'm not 100% sure if I ovulated first and second cycle, I got EWCM towards the end of each cycle, and in my 2nd cycle I got a positive OPK at the same time of EWCM and then a very tiny temp rise before AF came three days later.

I know it's just my body trying to get back on track after the pill, but I've done so much research and did absolutely everything I could this cycle to try and improve things, and things seem worse this time as last cycle I had several LH surges which started around CD18.

I've cut out sugar and all processed foods, cut out dairy for a week to see if that made any difference to my gut symptoms (I have IBS), started taking a prenatal supplement, as well as continuing with vit d, folic acid and omega 3. I'm doing yoga daily (I've always done yoga, i'm just doing a bit more) and even bought a water purifier, have cut out some plastics and am drinking dandelion root tea to help my liver detox excess hormones caused by the pill. I guess I'm just feeling deflated after all the effort I've put in to help my body along.

Any advice? x

I'm currently;
- CD17
- Cycle 1 of TTC
- 3rd cycle after coming off the pill in March

This is my first month TTC so I had nooooo idea about OPKs or CM before June... so new to me!!

Anyway I began testing using the amazing one step cheapie OPKs from the first day after my period... sometimes I was testing in the morning so maybe I've just missed the peak but currently have not had a positive.

I've noticed in the last few days I'm more 'moist' (so sorry) downstairs then normal and I'm trying f to examine for any CM after I've been for a wee!!

I'm not overly sure how long my cycles are I just know I get a period every month.. 🤣😩 so I'm just DTD every day (is possible, as we've missed one every now and again) so I can try and catch it 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I didn't track ovulation when I was TTC but I worked the dates backwards and I ovulated around CD20/21 when I fell pregnant. I'd just come off the pill after being on it for 14 years and fell pregnant on my second cycle.

If you got a positive OPK on CD18 last month then it wouldn't be that surprising if you were in the early 20's this time round. Good luck.

Hi @JTB123 ☺️

It's all so confusing anyway, and then throwing the pill and crazy cycles into the mix makes it ten times worse!!

I've actually just done today's OPK and the line is darker than usual, although far from a positive, so I'm hoping that if I keep testing I will see it getting darker 🤞🏼 I also have more CM today too, but no EWCM. I usually check my cervix position and that's how I check CM as I don't seem to have enough to check in my underwear etc, although like you I can spot it on the loo paper 🙈

DTD every day is good going! We are going for every other day but I have to say I was more enthusiastic in cycle 1. Think we managed to DTD 16 times cycle 1 and so far only 7 times this cycle. I'm finding it hard not to feel like it's a waste if I'm not in my fertile window 😂 But all helps as it's so hard to know that's going on post pill! X

Thanks for your reply @Curiosity101 ☺️

I actually didn't get a positive OPK until CD33 last cycle and then AF arrived 4 days later! But I did have a surge (almost positive) on CD19 and then another about 5 days later, and then finally a positive on CD33, so can only assume my body tried to ovulate and kept failing. No idea if I did finally ovulate CD33 as my temp went up but then dropped back down the next day, and then AF arrived a few days later, so who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

Today's OPK is actually darker than usual so really hope they keep getting darker now. I've put a lot of effort into trying to make changes this cycle, so was really hoping I would see some improvements on the last cycle 🤞🏼

Congrats by the way ☺️ How far along are you? I honestly never thought my body would have issues getting back on track after the pill, but then after 14 years of not ovulating I guess you do need to give these things time x

I had my DS last year. He's 10 months old now 😊.

After all the reading I did pre TTC I remember that I was prepared for it to take 6-12 months to conceive, but I still remember how it felt that first month when I got a BFN. After waiting 35-36 days for my cycle to complete it felt like forever. So I definitely understand your impatience/frustration. And everyone is different. But as I said I was also on the pill for 14 years, so there's nothing to say this month won't be the one for you!

Good luck 😊

@Curiosity101 ahh lovely, congrats!

You're totally right, not sure why I'm feeling defeated already! In my head it won't happen while my cycles are still off because of the pill, but it totally could and I should give it my best shot regardless.

Thanks for your advice smile x

Thing is... who knows if I'd have gotten the same results as you are from temping and OPKs? Maybe my cycles were all messed up too and I just never knew... but it only takes one egg and one sperm grin

So I'm now CD25 and still no positive OPK or temp rise. CD23 & 24 I had EWCM and CD24 and today (25) my cervix is now high.
Can anyone shed some light on what might be going on? Does anyone else get EWCM 4-5 days before they even get a positive OPK? So frustrating waiting this long for anything to even start happening, and hoping each day will be the day that I finally get a positive OPK or temp rise with no change. Feel like I never know where I'm at and if we are even technically TTC if I don't seem to be ovulating 😔
