I took two tests today one in the morning which was very faint and then one in the afternoon that is very dark. Can anyone explain why this is? First time trying and I'm not sure whether to be excited.

Thank you!!

HCG levels rising. Should be even darker in a couple of days. Congrats!

Maybe you're dehydrated. HCG doesn't rise that much fast. Or perhaps one of the tests is less sensitive- quality control issue during manufacture, perhaps? Both positive though, congratulations!

When I was pregnant with my daughter I found that my tests were darker in the evening. I have read Many times that for some they have darker tests later in the day. Still it’s definitely a bfp so congratulations x

@Stabal thank you! Really unsure about getting excited at the moment

FRER are the most accurate tests, so that's a good sign and both tests are positives. Could be lots of reasons why but test again in the morning or in 48 hours line progression is also a good sign.

Justkeepswimming91 · 16/06/2020 20:31

@wavecatcher both tests are FRERs one is a normal one (the lighter one) and the other the darker one is a rapid response one.

Ohhh, well that explains it then! The rapid response is meant to be used earlier so will be more sensitive.

@FourPlasticRings ahhhh I had no idea. Should I test again in a few days to confirm?

You don't have to, no. They're both positive, just one test is more sensitive than the other so showed up a stronger response. They're both positive- you're pregnant. Smile

@FourPlasticRings thank you, we only started trying in May so I am a bit in shock I think. Fingers crossed it's a sticky bean now!

I know what you mean- you hear and read so much about it taking ages to conceive and infertility, then you try it for yourself and it happens immediately! I'm currently expecting DC2- conceived on the first attempt, as was DC1.

@FourPlasticRings congratulations! I haven't even told OH yet as I can't quite believe it's real. I'm worried it will end in a CP and I don't want him to be disappointed.

Hmm, tricky. I always told DH immediately, but then I'd probably have wanted to tell him if it'd gone wrong too, for the support aspect. Ultimately though, there's no wrong answer and nothing wrong with waiting a week or so to tell him if you prefer to do it that way.

@FourPlasticRings I cracked and told him. Fingers crossed it's a sticky one :s

@Justkeepswimming91 I’m not quite sure how to upload photo, but my test was darker in the evening yesterday. Congrats! Any line is a positive!

@Justkeepswimming91 my test was exactly like that yesterday evening. Took a Clearblue today and I am pregnant. I think any line is a positive! Congratulations 🥳

Sorry for the two messages! Dodgey WiFi! Are you thinking of testing again tomorrow? @Justkeepswimming91

@LucyGrace199961

I've a digital CB to be delivered tomorrow and I have one FRER rapid left so I think I might do an FMU one tomorrow. I can't really believe it. How many weeks do you think you are? I haven't been tracking ovulation really as we only just started trying after me being on the pill 11 years.

@Justkeepswimming91 that’s good! By the looks of your tests, it looks like you’ve just gone past implantation. My Clearblue says 1-2 but my last period start date was 24th May. So I personally think 3 weeks. Let me know your results!

@LucyGrace19961
Still positive this morning which is a relief. Bit afraid to do the CB when it arrives just in case :s. The first day of my last period was 25 May :)

@Justkeepswimming91 you can do it!! If the test is still positive this morning I’m sure the clear blue will pick up something!! We must be in sync!! 😂 I find it weird how I’ve had literally no symptoms. Have you had many?

@LucyGrace19961 if indigestion is a symptom I have had quite a bit of that, and I've been a bit crampy but I'm trying not to worry. Great to find somebody else at the same point as me :).

Pic of today's test below.

@Justkeepswimming91 Amazing! Well.. you clearly don’t need anyone else to confirm your pregnancy, that line is much stronger!! Clearblue will pick that up! Mine was fainter than that, and Clearblue digital still picked it up! 😀

@LucyGrace19961 told DH yesterday and he is so excited! Have you told anyone yet?
