Hi ladies. I just tried today for the first time. I have a 2y/o. Desperate to have another but could afford 2 in child care so needed to hold off a bit. I'm 38 and so scared it's too late.... I have never really 'tried' for a baby. The last time it happened immediately and I wasn't that sure I even wanted a baby so I wasn't bothered if it didn't work. Very different this time as I know I want another.

Anyone relate? Xx

Hey :)
There is a whole active thread for ttc 35+ but I’ve lost it! :(
I’m 36. Also have a DD about to turn 2. Was starting to feel like it may not happen but have just got my BFP! X

Thank you! It feels surreal to be honest.. and like I’ve forgotten everything from the 1st time. I’m also holding out until Friday to tell DH on his birthday so I haven’t told a soul yet which also feels really odd!

Are you using ovulation sticks or anything? X

Not yet. I literally have no idea what to do! Last time I literally had sex twice and was preggo straight away. So I've never really used anything but luck!

That's so sweet you are keeping it for your Husband's birthday. Almost Father's Day too. I'm sure he will be thrilled. X

Hi ladies can I join? I’m 38 turn 39 next month. Have been TTC my first since November 2018. I had a chemical pregnancy in March. I’m single so am using a known donor which is really stressful as you don’t have much opportunity to ‘try’ and it’s even more important to make sure it’s the right time.

I’ve lost weight, I’m taking coq10 as it’s supposed to be good for egg health, I don’t drink and I’ve given up chocolate and caffeine. I’m starting to thing this is never going to happen though.

To make matters worse, and people will probably think I’m stupid for having done this, but my flat is full of baby stuff. I mean literally pretty much everything you would need for a newborn. I’d like to point out this isn’t because I’m unhinged! Since I’m doing this on my own I started buying everything I would need before I started trying because I knew once I was pregnant I would need to be saving in order to support us while I was on maternity leave. There is no way I could do both so I bought the things I would need.

Congratulations @Sunshine1984 that’s great. Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 months. What a birthday present for DH that’s such a lovely gift.

Hey @Waiting2BAMummy - I can’t imagine how tricky it is trying to conceive with a donor. Falling pregnant sounds like the easiest thing in the world until you actually have to attempt it!

Must be tough seeing all of the baby things around too. Sounds like you’re doing all of the right things. Are you using ovulation sticks? Do you ‘try’ a few days in a row?

There’s a bigger over 35 group with lots of people on it if you’d like to join. I put the name of a couple of messages up. Lovely group and lots of very different situations.

Thank you for your well wishes. I can’t wait to finally tell him tomorrow! Xx

@Waiting2BAMummy
Hey. I just saw your post. For what it's worth I don't think you are mad at all for pursuing this choice. I think you are incredibly brave. The desire for a baby is really primal and unless you have experienced it it's easy to judge other people's choices. Sending you lots of luck xxx
