I'm 40 with an AMH of 5.5. Been TTC for over a year.

The fertility chap that I've just had an appointment with was very pessimistic about my egg reserve.

I wondered if anyone had any success stories with low AMH?

For your age that's actually not that bad and is pretty normal for your age - it will just take longer to have success

Ah thanks @ivfgottostaypositive I've seen you on other threads. The fertility chap was going on and on about my diminished egg reserve and how low it was. I should have asked more but I was a bit deflated!

@ivfgottostaypositive I promise I'm not stalking you but just seen on another thread that you got your BFP. Many congratulations 🥳

Ha Thankyou so much! You become familiar with the users on the infertility boards - it's a good community on here

I should have said I'm with Create and they specialise in low AMH - much lower than yours and have the highest success rates of women 40+

Im 37 but went with create because wanted a milder more gentle IVF protocol xx

@Icouldstillbejoseph there's plenty out there to suggest low AMH doesn't really have much of an impact unless you need to harvest eggs for IVF treatment. Otherwise ultimately you still only release one egg per cycle so as long as you have enough for that why would you need a spare few thousand in the bank if you see what I mean?

As the other poster said - 5.5 at age 40 is actually pretty decent!

@Juno231 thanks for the reply. I'm almost 41 now so no doubt the level is lower now. I'm trying progesterone pessaries this month but I've been told to only try for 2 months on these and then to 'crack on' with IVF.
Just need to win the Euromillions in the meantime.

@ivfgottostaypositive I've been looking at Create - I've had my initial consultation at CRGH but not sure I was completely impressed...
