PCOS - Do I need to contact GP?

Hi all.

I was diagnosed with PCOS in September last year which was a shock as don't have any of the classic symptoms, just ovaries which resemble to inside of a pomegranate.

My husband and I are TTC#1. Do I need to contact my GP before we start trying, or do we just start?

Hi @tkma depending on your age (over 35) if you have been trying for more then 6 months and have had no luck they should refer you to a fertility unit. It’s 1 year if your under that age.

Thanks @ChicaXS for your reply. I'm 31 and just taking my folic acid for now. I'd love to conceive within the year but at least I know I can get referred after a year if things haven't happened.

Best of luck! Don’t give up it does take 6-9 months on average even if you’re healthy! Keep with the folic acid and vitamin d and BD every other day. X
