Does anyone else think they can ‘sense’ when someone is pregnant?

When you yourself are TTC I mean.

Some friends of ours are due any day now and I was thinking back to when they announced to us that they were expecting. We went out for some food and I remember walking into the restaurant with her and just knowing that there was some sort of announcement coming even though they were totally normal. I noticed when she only ordered a coke, even though I did too and I never normally pay any attention to what other people drink. I definitely was bracing myself for it when they told us but I’ve no idea why!

Am I going loopy or is this a thing Grin

I definitely think it's a thing! My mum fell pregnant 'accidently' many years ago in her early 40s, so quite unusual at the time, and with 3 girls in our late teens , no one was expecting her to have another baby. At 12 weeks pregnant she walked in to my Aunt's who instantly said ' on my god, you've come to tell me you're pregnant '.

It was so funny! Made me paranoid that my mum would guess my news before I could tell her, so I ended up just blurting it out!!

I have a friend I could always tell when she was pregnant before she told anyone as her eyes were bigger and brighter. Apparently it's a thing, something to do with hormones.

You're probably picking up on all sorts of non verbal cues and are more acutely tuned to recognise ones relating to pregnancy if it's on your mind. However it is a thing. When I was pregnant with my first, unplanned, single, living the life of Riley ie not someone who you would expect to be announcing a pregnancy, I took a few days off with hyperemisis. I only told my line manager as it was very early days and as far asking everyone else was concerned I'd had a virus. One of the secretaries, who I did get on with quite well, said "Ah, a virus" and just looked me up and down. We chatted later on a night out and she confirmed that she totally, totally knew but no one else twigged at all.

When I was only 4 weeks pregnant with DD2, DH took a photo of me with DD1. When he looked at it he said I had a real pregnancy glow and was totally convincing I was pregnant. I didn’t have any suspicion I was at all. Anyway I took a test and low and behold I was.

I'm convinced my sister in law is pregnant, haven't seen her since the lockdown because she has literally never left and her husband is doing all the shopping at the local shop. She does have asthma but they aren't even going for a walk so i feel like pregnancy must be the only reason she is being so careful

I think my DM did when I was pregnant with DC1. I was very young and in my first sexual relationship and I made an offhand comment (can't remember what) and she immediately asked when my last period was.

My mother seems to be one of those people. She said she "had a feeling" myself or my sister would pop up pregnant. She knew we were both TTC, but little did she know my sister (who lives in another country) already told me she was pg a few weeks prior.

Apparently she "still has a feeling" that I'm next, but that's just wishful thinking.
