Hello.

This is my first month using Ovulation strips to detect the LH surge for two reasons, so see my levels and for when I ovulate to know when it is useful to try conceive a baby.

I started on day 4 of my cycle and will continue till the end to track the levels.

So my cycle is 26-28 days long and it says to start on day 11, which is today. The lines have been changing day by day and today's was the lightest by far, is this normal for the lines to be darker some days then others, none have yet been a positive or anywhere near, just some darker and lighter I have included a pic for observation :)

Yes they change by the day and you might have a few LH surges before you get a positive. Once you're getting stronger ones test a couple of times a day as it can change by the hour.

Ah okay ! I'm on day 12 now and no darker! So should I just keep doing once a day and just wait till they get darker?

It's strange because I had a positive pregnancy test 2 weeks ago, and then a light period so I assumed I'm not longer pregnant, which I wanted to do these tests and see if I can pinpoint when I have a LH surge

thanks for your reply :D

I have attached mine to show how dark you are looking for. Nearer your peak I would test once in the afternoon then again before bed, you should detect your surge then.

Just read your last post, have you done a further hcg test?

Though usually if pregnant the opk test is dark too

I am not an expert but this so just what I found. Not sure if you know but you can use and app like Premom to take photos of the tests. It also calculates based on a Comparison do the lines. Make sure you test around the same time each day. Usually afternoon as my rise through the day. Good idea to to hold urine for a couple of hours.

So I test at 5pm as that is when I get in. Some people test twice a day as you can 'miss your peak'.

Typo- LH rises through the day

I did test a week ago and it was still barely a pos line, if nothing at all, so I just assume, nothing there ! :)

I have downloaded the Premum so I will see. I am day 12 and still so so faint still, might do twice from tomorrow at 12 and 6 and see what happens :)

By the way, when is the best time to test and should I be doing twice, so would 10 and 4 work or 12 noon and 6pm?

Best to do afternoon to evening as it accumulates during the day

11-12 and 6-7 of testing twice a day.

@popcorndiva - your tests appear much darker, a lot earlier than mine! Mine are still low even at day 14, :) Interesting ...

Mine look like this. I found I didn't ovulate until day 16 so keep On going .

Takes a couple of cycles to get used to it.

@tassedecafe ah okay ! That's fine then haha, might explain why I haven't been getting pregnant - was following the day 14 rule and stopping at day 13 LOOOLZ, at least they're getting darker now.

When you say did not ovulate until day 16, do you mean you got a positive peak LH test on day 16 or positive on day 14, I think, If i'm correct, the LH surge shows you will ovulate between 24 to 36 hours later right ?

Ah yes I was doing the 14 day rule too- it was a massive lightbulb! now I just see day 8-17nas a fertile window. Not all my cycles are the same for me and sometime my cycle is a couple of days shorter and I ovulate early.

Lots of info out there about how LH rise - some women have slow rise and some more steady. But I do try and limit my self- it could become all consuming - so I don't know what kind of rise I have I just see it getting dark. I can also pair LH surge with other ovulation symptoms like mild pain which I would have barely noticed before same with CM too.

@Alrowley I am now ovulating much earlier in the my cycle, this is the first month there has been a clear peak, I am now 4dpo and lh has dropped to 0.2 which is good I think.

My rhr is another issue, mine doesn't follow whats it meant to which is making me think I have a hormone imbalance but we will see

Alrowley · 26/05/2020 11:03

Oh, I get you! What’s RHR if you don’t mind me asking?

Mine are getting darker now! Nearly near 1, i’m day 15 now :)

@Alrowley rhr is resting heart rate. It's meant to go up after ovulation but mine always drops straight after

Well done glad you worked it out! If you have plenty of tests do another one tonight and two tomorrow around the same time as today's.

Hello. So I am 9 DPO and I have such sore boobs and feel so sick! I've developed insomnia too, which I've never had in my life. I did a HCG test this morn and it was the faintest line you could ever get, even might be imagining it.

Do any of you girls know if you can have symptoms this early, with my first I got sickness from the missed period, so I guess it could happen right ?

Ohhhh exciting!!!
Yes, I get symptoms basically immediately after implantation. In my case I'm terribly tired, feel sick, get very sensitive teeth and also insomnia. Fingers crossed this is it!! 🤞🏼
