Penguin huddle 🐧🐧🐧 TTC after pregnancy loss - Thread 35 - time for some sticky BFP's

Welcome to the 🐧 huddle. This a safe place to give and receive support for everyone who has experienced the loss(es) of a pregnancy or baby. Pregnancy and child loss is one of the most difficult things we can experience and it can also be the most lonely time too. I hope you find this thread to be of some comfort.

I have found so much comfort from the lovely ladies on this thread and I’m hoping for lots of BFPs in coming months!

I am @peperethecat. I'm 34 and have been TTC#1 since March 2019.

I had early losses in cycles 1, 3, 6 and 8, including a MMC in January. Just changed doctors and am doing a medicated cycle (cycle 9) and will be testing on 1st June. I think I ovulated in the last couple of days.

Thanks for inviting me to the new thread @somebunnyovertherainbow and @peperethecat ! I'm @onedaysoonish lovely to meet you all! I'm 32, been trying for 18 months, two miscarriages very early and one missed miscarriage at about 10 weeks. PCOS as well which makes extra trouble.

Making a big effort with healthy eating, exercise, reducing stress, vitamins and supplements etc just in case it might help. So fingers crossed!!! Smile

Welcome to the penguin huddle
@onedaysoonish What sort of exercise are you doing? I was running but got bored of that and for the past few weeks been doing Les Mills cardio classes online.

As far as I can go with healthy eating is limiting myself to one chocolate snack most days... but I otherwise eat well and drink next to no alchohol or caffeine, so...

We had a separate health and fitness thread but it’s kind of fallen by the wayside in current circumstances

Hi everyone 👋

Thank you for the new thread @SomeBunnyovertheRainbow (love the new name 😍)

Welcome @onedaysoonish I'm very sorry to hear of your losses ❤️

Have you confirmed ovulation now @peperethecat? 🤞

About me, I'm 36, ttc 2.5 years. Struggling initially with infertilty / subfertility but then conceived naturally in January last year. I've had 2 missed miscarriages both around 9 weeks (April and September last year) and 1 biochemical pregnancy in February this year.
My recurrent miscarriage tests are normal and waiting for nk cells biopsy (privately), my first was normal so not anticipating any answers.
TTC naturally while we wait - trying smep this cycle 🤞 🌈 it worked for number 2 :)

@VenusStarr My temperature was slightly raised this morning and my CM has gone white and sticky so I'm pretty sure. Still planning to get a progesterone blood test tomorrow morning to double check. I've been playing around with my Fertility Friend app and if I put in a slightly higher temperature for yesterday it will tell me I ovulated on Sunday, which I would feel much better about. I woke up early yesterday and temped at least an hour earlier than usual, so maybe that's why I didn't get a rise?

I think SMEP works well. I've been having a look back at my previous charts trying to work out what was different about the cycles we conceived and the ones we didn't. (We conceived in 4 out of 8 cycles.) In the cycles we didn't conceive, two were absolutely textbook perfect cycles but we had sex every day for quite a long time before ovulation and I'm convinced that the reason we didn't conceive on those cycles was because he had no sperm left by the time I ovulated. We've had much better luck on cycles where we had sex EOD.

Hi @somebunnyovertherainbow It's an app called Centr - it has something to do with Chris hemsworth Grin- my husband found it and started the workouts and last week I joined him and really enjoyed myself! So when I say exercise I mean I started doing workout videos on Monday (hardly an athlete!) but I'm still carrying on a week later so that is a win! And I'm trying to limit myself to two extremely chocolatey biscuits per day (the ones where the biscuit is the middle bit and the chocolate is all around it and there is 3x as much chocolate as biscuit yum)

Thank you @venusstarr - I'm sorry for your losses too. It's tricky when there are no answers - I'm in the same boat - all the tests are normal so I've just been told to try again. But fingers crossed!

@SomeBunnyovertheRainbow thanks for the new thread ☺ like the new name x

Right guess I better do my role call

38 years young, I'm the stinky old cheese around here been at this since March 2018 and with this thread since thread 14,
had 9 losses total, 3 mmc and 4 cp's and 1 natural early loss and the most recent being an ectopic with tubal removal and damaged uterus. I'm on 3rd cycle since the op and hopefully my last cycle (fingers crossed). Currently ovulating today (again fingers crossed), first month I might be ovulating on my good side (fingers and toes crossed) got a really good positive opk yesterday. I was worried I wasn't going to ovulate this cycle because it was later then normal for me, but maybe that's a good thing. Been having some really evil ovulation pains on my tubed and tubeless side for a couple of days now so unsure which side it will be. The last two cycles I've had only pain on my tubeless side, so....... Here hoping. @peperethecat looks like we're going to be test buddies if I can hold out that long. I'll know way before test day if I catch because I always get a cool minty taste in my mouth. Fingers crossed this is your cycle then you don't have to go through it all again.
If this cycle is a bfn then it's the closest I've come to a text book cycle at 27 - 28 days. I started taking a higher dose magnesium and B6 supplement and I'm wondering if its sorted out my hormones. I usually have very short cycles and I ve always wondered if that's the reason for my mc's immature eggs and poor lining. Anyway dtd at the right time, ovulation hopefully and clean diet, exercise, supplements, no caffeine, no alcohol and general good behaviour, normal fertility tests, I've done all I can. Now let the tww crazy 😜 commence and pray for a miracle 🌈 baby

@onedaysoonish welcome and sorry for your loss.

Thank you @VenusStarr Good luck with SMEP. I’ve read lots of positive things about it 🤞 I just found it stressful trying to time dtd so closely as DH doesn’t like to feel we are only dtd to make a baby 🙄

@onedaysoonish You’ve sold me at Chris Hemsworth and love those biscuits Grin

Thank you @mumlili9 The minty taste is interesting. It’s funny what makes us realise we are pg. With my 2nd pg it was the clear absence of PMS but with my 1st I felt massively hormonal so who knows?! Good luck for this cycle 💖

Hi all. I’m 33 and had a MVA 3 weeks ago for a MMC (found out at 13 weeks). I had to very stressfully arrange it elsewhere as my hospital were only offering MM due to CV. Waiting for my period to return for now.

I would usually RTFT, but thread 35!? Wow, very late to join you all!

Hey Guys! In a really happy mood tonight unusually, I've been trying to exercise as I am quite a sedate person, It takes alot of motivation. So anyway I'm 27 and have been trying for 2 years this month. I had a MMC in Augsust 2019 at 16 weeks and then another MC on 7th Dec ending in EPRC. My LP is super short, this month I ovulated on CD25. Am currently on CD 40 which is super long for me. All pregnancy tests are negative. Funnily enough my DD1 was conceived in May and DD2(MC) also May so I'm clinging to a bit of hope still. Maybe I'm a once a year kinda girl, who knows!

Hi @Sakura54 sorry you find yourself here, the ladies are all lovely and helpful.

Hi @Mumlili9 - sorry about the not ovulating. I don't do OPKs (apparently they don't work if you have PCOS) I just look out for the CM. Hopefully someone else from the team will be along shortly to advise! x

I'm not 100% on what dpo I am, somewhere around 9/10 I think. BFNs for me so far. Not convinced this month. X

Morning @Kangaroo77. It's a bank holiday where I am so I'm lying here in bed hoping my husband will bring me a cup of tea.

I am 3 or 4 DPO today but not allowed to test until 1st June. Think I'm going to go crazy! This feels like a three week wait! mnemo

Thanks all. @Mumlili9 your stinky old cheese comment was funny! I don't use OPKs either.

Sorry to you all for your losses and struggles. My MMC is one of the worst things I’ve ever experienced, but you ladies are so strong to be able to keep going despite the repeated knock backs. I’d like to think I was resilient enough to try again too if this was to occur again.

I’m not aware if I’ve had chemical pregnancies before however twice now it’s been a possibility due to odd/late periods. For CP’s, were your periods really late or somewhat on time? I’m thinking of testing early, as opposed to waiting for late periods, so I can know if something is wrong or is it better to not stress until it starts taking long TTC?
