FMU vs SMU

I'm not in the TWW nor have I ovulated this month (yet). However, reading through new and old threads, I see a lot of contradictory advice around using the FMU or SMU when testing for PG.

I''ll be testing around the time AF is due, but I wanted to open up the discussion on why FMU is better than SMU, and vice versa?

I've heard FMU is best cause it's when it is most concentrated however for me on both occasions SMU came up with a stronger positive

Some people's urine metabolises hcg quicker than others - something about the protein in urine so actually the longer you hold your wee the more diluted hcg becomes because it has had more time to break it down

I would say this is the exception rather than the norm though

Is this why some recommend using SMU then?

Would the same be true when using OPKs? Or is it only relevant to HCG?

I'm one of those people who get stronger BFPs in the late afternoon 🤷🏻‍♀️
