I was diagnosed with PCOS in my 20s, type 2 diabetes in my 30s and got pregnant naturally after about 8 months of trying when I was 40, easy pregnancy aside from needing to go on to insulin injections which went back to tablets pp . Scheduled c section and healthy daughter who is now 5.

I was diagnosed when I was 14. Periods once a year if I was lucky.
We took Clomid for 6 months and I got pregnant with DD1. 13 months later I was pregnant with DD2 with no intervention.
There is a lot of hope so please don’t think you’ve been handed a life sentence.

Had my 1st at 25 after 9m of trying, 2nd after 11m at 29. Third one took 15mths + ovarian drilling+ 1.5 years on antidiabetic tablets when I was 33. Haven’t tried clomid. Before trying for the 3rd I developed some thyroid issues and maybe that’s why it took longer. Over these 15mths my thyroxine dose got up to what I think was the optimal level as on low dose I had 2 chemical pregnancies.

In a nutshell my advice is to check thyroid levels as it’s quite common to have this issue with pcos.

Hi @Worriedmum97 doc said my thyroid levels have come back normal, LH levels were high which is why he wants me to have the scan for cysts 🤷🏻‍♀️. Feeling much better after reading your comments 😊

Pcos, a beard to rival santa and hardly ever a period.... conceived first two purely by accident and had to try for four years with my third.... six months of Clomid then eventually gonal f injections and iui. I'm currently bouncing him to sleep at nine months old. Good luck and best wishes

Pcos & endometriosis diagnosed when I was about 21. DS took 13months of trying when I was 28, extremely long and irregular cycles. DD took 11months at 31, cycles slightly more regular but not perfect. Both times I had made the appointment to start the process of IVF and then cancelled due to a positive test. Currently pregnant with DC#3, 35 and took 1 month of trying - VERY surprised! We'd started trying saying that we wouldn't do IVF for #3 and call a halt to trying when I got to 38. Really quite amazed Smile

@misstiggiwinkle wow that is so lovey to hear! ☺️ Do you mind me asking if you were taking any medication for your PCOS? X

No medication but I was told by a family friend who's a top fertility dr that the very best thing I could do in my circumstances was to dtd every other day for my entire cycle. Exhausting when you have a 51 day cycle but it did eventually work! The biggest challenge with pcos is the not being able to predict when you ovulate.

I had 3 losses after him and then fell pregnant with my DD 14 months after DS1. I fell pregnant with DS2 14 months after having DD.

Started ttc after getting married with very irregular periods. Not successful after 2 years so went for testing and diagnosed with pcos. Took metformin which helped regulate cycles and after not conceiving a year later was put on Clomid. Conceived 3rd cycle!
21 months later got pregnant naturally last month - total miracle as weren't even trying! Sadly ended in MC but hopeful and planning to the again.
Good luck!Flowers

PCOS, told to start trying asap as unlikely to conceive naturally - conceived two children in space of three years, both on first month of trying. I realise I'm incredibly lucky but PCOS does not necessarily mean you will have issues conceiving. Best of luck to you 💐

I had pcos and no periods. I was put on the contraceptive pill to force a period - didn't work. Two years later I got a natural period, took clomid and conceived. DS1 is now 10. Same story for DS2 - took another two years to get a period and conceived naturally on that.

Grace2296 · 14/04/2020 23:20

@BoysRule oh fantastic! 😊 Do you believe that the clomid helped then? X

I have irregular cycles and after bloods and ultrasound scans got told it was suspected PCOS (maybe a bit milder as I don't have any excruciating cramps). I was supposed to be referred to a fertility clinic but then CV hit so understandably that was all put on hold.

Then found out a few days ago that I've conceived naturally and currently 4 weeks pregnant (hopefully a sticky bean).

We've been trying for about a year for our first (my first cycle after coming off the pill was 126 days 😅, so they had to induce a period and since they've been around 28-56 days) and I've never even had a faint faint positive until this one.

PCOS never treated. Started TTC November but already set the ball rolling with fertility specialists due to PCOS - cycles ranging from 17 to 70 days. Had ultrasound, bloods, all sorts and was sat down start of May to be told I'll "never conceive naturally, don't ovulate, go away, lose 6 stone and we will start invasive tests/treatment"

I was already pregnant

April was my first 28 day cycle for years - pure fluke. I'd started taking omega3 two months before as well which may have helped in some way (I'd also suggested this to two friends who had been struggling for years TTC and they also now have babies coincidentally!)

Tried for almost a year, diagnosed with PCOS. Started taking metformin and conceived third month of taking it.
