BBT Advice

I’ve started tracking my temp this cycle and have set an alarm for 6am every morning which has worked perfectly so far, however for one reason or another it didn’t wake me up this morning and therefore I’ve only just been able to take my temp upon waking at 8:20am.

I had been staying around 36.21 but today was 36.47 and I’m CD12 (but guess there is no way of knowing if this is the time difference or a genuine rise)

Aside from being frustrated at myself, I’m unsure as to whether to add this mornings temp to the apps to chart or whether it would be best to not and miss a day on the charts?

Can anyone advise please?

You wouldn't normally know until after the fact but my 'rise' was always more marked than that. I'd chart it and see what the next few days brings and that'll give you a more accurate view. Also worth looking into the nadir I think it's called-lowest point- which your body reaches right before (1 day) before you ovulate. Often coincides with LH surge. You kind of need to chart for a few months to see what's normal for you to be able to use BBT effectively. Mine bumbled along the there were some more obvious trends. The nadir told me I would ovulate the next day and was confirmed by lh surge and pregnancy that month 🤷🏽‍♀️

This is why I loved using Natural Cycles. No guesswork, tells you when to discard a reading, when your patterns look normal/regular or when they’re all over the place. It also learns your cycles to make more accurate predictions. No complicated chart reading. I really recommend.

But generally within 2 hours either way of your normal waking time is considered fine. Doesn’t have to be one time on the dot. I would test between 5-8am (aiming for 6.30am) and still had very regular readings. Once you’ve tracked for a few months it’ll become clearer.
