Hi, first time posting, hope someone can help.
Had a period 9th Feb and then another 10th March exactly as predicted by my app and it was like a normal period. Boobs carried on being sore after period ended so last Wednesday I took a test and got a very faint positive. Took another last Friday- 20th it was a little darker and I also took a digital which said pregnant. As dates didn’t add up I got a digital one with the weeks which I did Sunday evening and it said not pregnant. Been doing cheap ones every day since and still a faint line and had a bleed all day yesterday. Still a faint line line today but think it’s safe today I’m not pregnant but in anyone’s experience when would the line disappear and boobs stop being sore. Spoke to doctor today and she wasn’t concerned and said it sounded like an early miscarriage. This is my first hint of a positive and subsequent miscarriage so I’ve no idea what to expect and googling just comes up with horror stories! Thanks! x

Sorry for this, however I think there is a very big down side to all this early testing, so many pregnancies dont make the early weeks

It can be very variable, one time I kept having light bleeding and getting positive HCG results (hospital blood tests) for weeks after miscarriage Sad, another time it was all done within days.

Unfortunately it is a wait and see situation, although you might like to ask to be referred to the early pregnancy unit for a scan so they can advise on what they can see. Take care Flowers

Thank you. Doctor was quite dismissive and just said it’s common and there was no mention of any referral x

Thank you. I didn’t test early though, I tested 4 days after my period ended as I felt different and still had sore boobs

Well the 'good' news is that things seem to be happening naturally without you having any major bleeding or pain. Just be aware things can change day to day and so may ramp up. But again very variable, I have had one with light bleeding but over many weeks, others with heavier, clottier more painful bleeding.

Advice as I understand it is that it is best to wait for your next period before continuing TTC, which from my own experience seems sensible as my next period was not always normal.

You may be able to self refer to your local early pregnancy unit, give them a ring and ask if you would like to. Otherwise I'd suggest you test every few days and you will soon know whether they are getting stronger or going Flowers

Hi OP, I don't mean to worry you but a couple of months ago I had what I assumed was my period but as I "felt pregnant" took a test a few days later, which was positive. Fainter than I would have expected it to be. Took another a couple of days later and slightly darker but still not as dark as I would have liked. Made an appointment with the midwife anyway (because a positive is a positive, right?!), assumed the "period" was implantation and maybe I had ovulated a little later than I thought. I mentioned it to the midwife whilst arranging my first appointment and she sent me for an early scan "just to be safe". Unfortunately the pregnancy was not where it should have been and I had to have a methotrexate injection to terminate the pregnancy.

I am absolutely not saying that this will definitely be the case for you, but when I googled it, I found a few similar stories where people had got their positive tests after their period and it had ended up being ectopic. (Also lots of other positive stories though!)

Please just keep an eye on the tests and what they're doing, if the line stays a similar darkness please have it looked into further. If it is an ectopic then time really is of the essence.

Good luck and I hope you get the news you want! 🤞

@whambam89 hi, thanks so much for responding. Your experience must have been awful, glad you are ok. Tests have been getting lighter every day to the point where I couldn’t hardly see a line. Did a clear blue dye test yesterday and still a faint line but this morning my boobs are no longer sore and back to normal and I’ve done a clear blue digital which says not pregnant exactly a week after I got my first pregnant on one so I think with this and the bleed all day Wednesday that everythings going back to normal. So strange as I’d just got my head around being pregnant after freaking out so to now not be feels a bit numb xx

When I had a chemical, the lines on my tests never really got any darker over the days and then was completely negative the day I started bleeding.

It depends how far along you are... the further along you are the longer it will take for test to go negative I believe
