TTC after loss

Hello everyone,
Just wondered when you started TTC after loss?
I recently suffered an ectopic with left tube removal at 5+4 on my first pregnancy and first time TTC.
Obviously I know I need to let my body heal and the doctors advised to wait at least 2 cycles before trying again - although they warned it could take up to 6 months for my period to return. Myself and DH are just desperate for a baby. We always have been and now even more so after loss.
Just wondering if anyone has any personal experiences in TTC after loss; how long did it take and do the nerves ease a bit.
