Is there any chance I can not be pregnant?

Hi all.

It is 1 day before AF is due and I have taken the clear blue pregnancy test with weeks indicator. It is showing that I am pregnant. I am quite new to this and I have read things about chemical pregnancies etc although I am unsure what that is. Is there any chance that this test could be wrong in any way? When I test tomorrow could it say not pregnant? Or am I 100% pregnant?

Thanks

A chemical pregnancy is where you get an initial often faint positive, then go into get your period. It's a very early miscarriage. Very common and picked up more often these days because the testing strips are more sensitive and able to detect pregnancy hormones before a period is missed.

If it positive, you are pregnant. Do you not want to be?

I would say it is most likely that you are, especially with a clear blue digital I have heard they are pretty accurate.

Thanks. Yes I most definitely want to be pregnant. But this will be my first child and I really and truly don't want to rub this in anyones face and I am so sorry if people find this hurtful, but I appear to have got pregnant on our first cycle so I am extremely shocked. I am also a very anxious person and expect the worst, so part of me is wondering if the test can be wrong in any way.

🤷‍♀️ yup pregnant

Even with a chemical pregnancy you are 100% pregnant until tests say otherwise

I was the exact exact same, we were lucky enough for it to happen on the first cycle and I am a ball of nerves that something bad is going to happen. So I honestly know how you feel. I did find mumsnet at times to stress me out even more as usually it is full of struggles and loss, and don't get me wrong I am so so glad that there is somewhere for people to discuss everything, but it nearly gave me things to worry about! Sorry that is not me slating other users on here at all and I hope it doesn't come across that way!

Just try focus on the positive. I am now 9 weeks and each week that passes I get a little bit more confident. We went for an early scan at 7 weeks and saw the heartbeat which I found helpful (I know there is alot of mixed emotions about early scans) and had to go to the early pregnancy unit for another scan last week as I had a little bit of bleeding and they were so so helpful and lovely.

@Echobear You have described exactly how I'm feeling, so I'm glad to know I'm not the only one. And an early scan sounds like something I will consider just for reassurance. I'm somewhat refusing to allow myself to be excited out of fear. I will just try to take each day as it comes and keep myself busy I think. Thanks for the replies. I know this is the conception board so I will move on to the pregnancy board now.

It does happen. I have four and got pregnant very quickly with them all.

I would say you/we are definitely not alone! All the best with everything Flowers I'm usually creeping around on mumsnet if you ever need a chat!
