Positive FRER and CB but negative CB digital!

Hi ladies,
Just after your opinions.
I got AF this month when expected (I have quite long cycles around 37 days so I’m not totally sure when I ovulate) but it was much lighter than usual. Still lasted around a week, but each day I didn’t need to change tampons for any other reason than not wanting to keep the same one in all day, and over night I didn’t need to wear anything.
Having considered that this may be IB I did some googling but decided against it as most info said IB is more a dark brown colour and lasts only a couple of days, whereas this was the length of a normal period and quite red.
So thought nothing more of it.
Fast forward 1 week and I have woken up in the night a few times throwing up, felt achy and just off.
Yesterday I decided to do a pregnancy test just incase and had a CB knocking around and it came up with a faint positive! (I cant upload a photo as my account is new - annoyingly!)
Not wanting to believe it as I’m sure I had my period last week, I rushed out and bought a FRER and a CB digital. Did the FR last night and again got a faint positive hubby and I over the moon!
Decided to save the digital test for this morning as I have read that’s when they’re most effective.
Woke up super early and full of beans, only for the test to show the dreaded ‘not pregnant’
I’m now super confused what to think. Feeling a bit disheartened by the digital test as I only really did it because I wanted to see the word ‘pregnant’ to confirm and now I’m not even sure I am!
I still have FR test left and have bought a box of cheap Superdrug ones as I’ve read a few things about them.
Might do one tomorrow morning but not sure whether I’m making myself see the positive lines on the original tests which got my hopes up!
Sorry for the long story, just looking for some opinions - please be honest! (Hard I know without being able to see photos but have compared them to lots of other faint positives people on here have uploaded where people have said it’s definitely there congrats!)

Thanks x

If the positives are faint, I’d say it was likely too early for the CB digital. I got a negative on a CB digital when I had positives on CB early response and FRER. Try again with the FRER in a couple of days and see if the line gets darker.

Clear blue digital are very sensitive and will only usually work if your period is a few days late unfortunately. I didn’t use my digital until a week after I got my positive FRER and CB one. I did a few to see the line get darker and then about 5 days later I did the digital and it said 1-2 weeks pregnant so it was still early days . Don’t be discouraged , wait it out a bit longer . Good luck xx

Thanks girls,
I was hoping it may have been because it’s too early but now I’m even MORE confused because I’ve just been to the toilet and am bleeding!?
So if the last time I was bleeding was infact AF I’m now CD14 and bleeding -
And if it wasn’t and the first 2 tests were correct, I’m possibly pregnant and bleeding?
What could this mean!?
Why is being a woman so difficult!? X

Maybe a chemical pregnancy OP? So sorry and I hope it’s not , but how much blood ? X

Digitals are notorious for showing a late positive. I know people who didn’t get a positive on a digital until 5/6 weeks!

@itsemily not enough to need anything in my pants, but quite a bit when I wipe... It’s our first month TTC so we weren’t really expecting it and have been really trying hard not to get my hopes up. Not even sure whether to test again in the morning or just consider us out this time? If it is a chemical, should I make an appointment with my GP? Or not? (Sorry, very new to all this!) x

I had a chemical after my first month TTC. I went to the doctor but he just said to wait until I stopped bleeding and then test again. I started bleeding on the Sunday and had a negative test by the Thursday.

So I did 2 more tests this morning - both negative and I’m still bleeding lightly.
Not sure whether to consider it as a chemical (all seems to have happened very quickly) or maybe I got a little over excited by the faint positives that maybe weren’t there at all.
Having done some googling bleeding on CD14 could be ovulation bleeding? (Not that ive experienced this before and also wouldn’t expect to be ovulating this early when my cycles are typically quite long?)
Anyone else experienced this?
Hoping it still means we’re still in the running this month as the app I use has predicted a fertile window the week after next.
Thanks for your replies ladies x

Sorry OP , it sucks when you get a negative . Usually ovulation and implantation bleeding are quite minimal . I had a streak of pink blood within some CM (sorry tmi) the month I got my positive , but it was only noticeable because I looked for it , I wouldn’t have noticed otherwise . I’d ride it out, treat it as a period and test again next month and hopefully that’ll be your time ! 💕💕

@itsemily I do hope so! Thank you ❤️
Is it strange to treat this as my period when my last period was only a week ago though? When my average cycle length is about 37 days!? I feel totally confused where I am with it all now!

I get that, honestly , when we started trying I had the weirdest cycle ! I had a heavy bleed, then a period again a week later ! Then after that a cycle of about 38 days or something , it was so confusing ! X

I don’t know whether it’s just now that I’m taking notice because it matters that they’re so messed up or have they always been and I’ve not noticed!?
How many cycles did it take you @itsemily if you don’t mind me asking? X

Sorry to hear that OP.
I know it’s so tempting when you’re TTC but I really really would recommend not testing until your period is quite late.
If you test early and get a positive which you later discover was a chemical, it’s so heartbreaking whereas not testing and not knowing you’ve had a chemical doesn’t cause the heartache.
Take care Flowers

@Lolaholax thank you, oh god I know and I certainly won’t be testing before a missed period again!
As disappointing as it is, I’m not feeling totally heartbroken about it as it’s only the first month we’ve tried and have been trying to be quite relaxed about it anyway. I know how long it can take and I would be naive to believe there’s any reason that won’t be us!
I’m just more concerned now about why I’m bleeding again so soon after my period! What should I think of this as, and what does it mean for trying to track my cycle to try again next month and avoid testing before AF is due.
I’ve decided to actually wear a pad today just so I can actually gauge how much there is...
Anyone experienced any unexpected bleeding like this before? X

@itsemily oh I can imagine! Even the thought that it could (and most probably will) be 3 months (if not longer) before we get pg seems like forever to wait!!!
Going to have to learn to be patient, what will be will be 🤞🏼 X

I can’t believe how slow pregnancy is going , 3 cycles seemed like forever but these 11 weeks seem like forever too! X

@itsemily thank you! I will do!
And congrats to you! 11weeks down must feel like forever 🙈😂 are you waiting til 12 to tell people? I’m not sure I will be able to do that, I found it hard not wanting to tell people about these 2 tests which it turns out weren't even positive 😂although thank GOD I didn’t! Xx

Thanks so much ! It really does feel like forever ! My husband says it’s gone fast and I’m over here like ummmm 🤨 haha ! We’ve told a few people (close friends and family) as I’ve been very poorly and we needed some support , but not officially announced it yet to extended family and friends etc . Work know and have been amazing ! I really really hope you get your positive soon! Xx

Just an update. I went to the doctors this afternoon as the bleeding got quite heavy last night and I was passing some pretty big clots this morning (sorry tmi)
Anyway, I feel as though he’s taken it all pretty seriously (probably even more so than I was myself) and has booked me in for some urgent blood tests tomorrow. He thinks it could possibly be that this is an early miscarriage (whether hcg would show up in my body now I’m not sure - I think it might be more to double check I’m definitely not pg, which with this amount of bleeding I can’t imagine I am!) and then once they’re back he seems to be keen to get me in for some scans to see if they can come to a conclusion about the irregular bleeding and whether this is going to play a part in our journey to conceiving. So feeling slightly better.
Is it mad to say I sort of hope that this is an early miscarriage? At least then I know I can get pg and I don’t have to class this bleeding as some sort of abnormality in my cycles!!? Is that awful?
Anyway, just thought I’d update.
X

Thanks for the update , I was thinking about you. No that’s not awful to think that! At least you know your body can be ready! And just see it as a blip , and there’s only good news ahead 💕💕 xx
