Unpasteurised milk

Needed a quick fix for dinner tonight so picked up a spag bol ready meal (appreciate not the most nutritious but needs must!) Just noticed that unpasteurised cow's milk is listed as an ingredient so too scared to eat it as can't find any advice online about it in food.

Have now resorted to fish fingers and waffles (!) but still wondering if unpasteurised milk in food is ok or not?

You are going to cook it? It will then become pasteurised and safe to eat. What brand is it?

It would be the same with unpasteurised cheese - once cooked it's safe to eat in pregnancy

Thank you - yes would microwave or oven cook but wasn't 100% sure if it would be ok or not after that! It's Sainsbury's taste the difference.

I looked it up and it's the Parmesan that's got unpasteurised milk. Parmesan is ok to eat in pregnancy even if made with unpasteurised milk as it's a hard cheese so less likely to contain listeria. Once cooked, unpasteurised products would be safe anyway

Thank you dementedpixie - really helpful of you. That's dinner sorted for tomorrow night at least!
