Hello! I am new to this forum & wanted to chat to anyone testing around the same time as me at the beginning of Feb!
Going off the app I use I am about to ovulate so will be DTD lots over the next week!
I have been TTC for around 5/6 months now but haven't discussed with friends or family so hoping to feel better by discussing with people in the same situation

I’ll join 😊

I should be ovulating in the next few days and period is due around feb 4th.

Trying to conceive our second child.

Our first time it took us four months to conceive, I’m hoping for a baby sibling before my son turns 4 but we will see how it all goes. I forgot how addictive and painful the waiting is. Good luck to you both.

Really hoping that this will be the month, glad to have others to chat to & keep each other clam calm during the agonising wait

Anyone else sometimes find some of the threads on here a little intense - feel they can sometimes increase people's stress about the whole TTC process rather than alleviate it... 😣

Hi all! AF is due on the 3rd Feb, this will be our first proper month trying. DH is loving it so far as we are DTD every day haha

Definitely noticed how intense some of the threads are @charlottees89 its a hard enough time without feeling under pressure from strangers too!
I for some reason have a really positive feeling about this month & TTC. Maybe just because of the madness of Christmas being over but nice to feel positive again instead of dread

I think it is intense on here, and you can get swept into it, if you aren't careful?

Can I join? 🙋🏻‍♀️ This is cycle #5 TTC hoping this is the month!
Currently on CD4, got positive OPK on day 12 last month and AF arrived early, so just 23 day cycle last month.
So guessing I’ll be ovulating end of next week so will be testing beginning of Feb.
This baby making lark is driving me insane already!

Definitely so easy to get swept into it, I just try and tell myself it'll happen when it's supposed to happen. We also haven't really told friends were trying either @CocoW so these threads are good for that kind of support. Fingers crossed for everyone this month x

No, we are the same. No one knows, so there's no one to discuss it with! I don't want extra pressure.

Can I join too? We've been TTC for quite a while and have kept it quite too.. I didn't fancy the added pressure. Apparently getting pregnant is not as easy as I thought!

KittyWindbag · 17/01/2020 05:04

@LOMY isn’t that the truth?? Spent my whole teenage and early twenties trying not to get pregnant. My knowledge of my own biology was laughable.

I agree sometimes some threads can become overwhelming. I’ve made a pact with myself not to drive myself bonkers reading every little ache and pain as a symptom this time, and not to buy a million cheap testing strips until my period is actually late.

I don’t blame others for doing that, it’s what I did with my first pregnancy. But god generally I spent the whole thing manic and restless and on dr google. It wasn’t a good experience looking back.

@KittyWindbag ah I have been the same the last fee months, constantly using early detection tests days before AF due, then convincing myself it was too early & there was still a chance. This time I aim to be much more chill & wait for AF to be late🤞🏼

Also couldn't agree more with expecting it to be easy. I had been on the pill for 10 years, constantly panicked if I missed a day & now starting to realise its really not that simple!

I genuinely didn't even realise the window to conceive was so small until we started trying and I started reading into it!! It's been an education which I'm guessing this whole journey will be!

I tried to reply but I do t think it worked. I feel much better knowing I'm not the only one who had no idea the window was so small! All those wasted years being super careful! We're trying a more relaxed approach this month. Last month I was testing fertility and early pregnancy testing...was a bit much. I've promised myself I won't test until I'm late.

I fell pregnant last July without trying and it was a lovely surprise after having a major op in Feb to remove one huge fibroid.. Had a hycosy in July to make sure everything was OK and tubes were clear to then find out a 6 days later I was pregnant and we saw it on the ultrasound during procedure but consultants said it was a polyp I then went on to have a miscarriage 24th Aug at 8 weeks 3 days most heartbreaking thing iv ever gone through and iv not been able to fall again at our surprise so here's hoping this is the month x sorry for long winded message 🙈 I'm not using opk just ovia app.. Its spot on regarding af which il be due 1st feb

@Kaylab2489 ahh so sorry for what you have had to go through.
I am using Ovia app too & its also always been spot on for AF.

Anyone else feel the pressure of fitting in DTD quite draining. I feel like I have planned out the whole of the next week based on DTD🥵

Hello! I’ll join - AF due on 7th so I think we are going to start DTD with purpose from this weekend. I have also bought ovulation kits as well so might try to pinpoint it exactly - but haven’t used them before, any idea?

@cocoW thankyou.. Was a very tough time and found myself obsessing about falling pregnant for a couple months after.. don't get me wrong still feel it now but not so bad x just want to have a baby 😔

@Kaylab2489 really sorry to hear about your miscarriage. It's been highlighted in the news recently how traumatic they can be and I think it's about time it's brought to people attention. Fingers crossed for you this month!

@CocoW Definitely feeling the pressure with DTD! Tbh I'll be glad once the window is closed and we can go back to having sex when we actually feel like it...well until next month's ovulation 😂

@Kaylab2489 I'm so sorry for what you've been through.
@CocoW so much pressure, my and my BF have opposite shifts sometimes so finding the time can be tricky!
I think I will get the app mentioned above, I've just been using my Fitbit, but maybe I need something more accurate.
